Tea Party Rabid Pitt Bull

No offense to Pitt Bull’s but the Tea Party is the rabid beast of the Republican Party. In the post election of President Obama, Republican’s have reached out for the passion of the Tea Party activists to try and win back as much of the political spin that they need to win control back of the house or senate. Unfortunately, they did not check to see if the Tea Party had its rabies shots. They pretty much hugged that puppy, fed it, and set it free among the party.

I’ve been trying to sum up in my own head what the Tea Party actually stands for and it is no better than extremist that come from the left side of the aisle if you overlook the spelling problem that most Tea Party folks have. The Tea Party is tantamount to a three year old throwing a tantrum till the Republican party people listen to them and then they decide to throw several other tantrums just because they can. And as long as the Republican’s play favorite child with the loony right, then they deserve to have a rabid dog in their living room.

What is more ironic and idiotic is that nobody is really in charge of the Tea Party nationally and thus it never will have one unified message. That pretty much makes the whole Tea Party movement impotent politically and according to some reports the GOP is trying to distance itself from the so called Tea Party grass root followers.

If you think about it, only Palin, Beck, and Limbaugh think the movement is worth their time but if you really look and think about their actions then you see a different picture. Palin is dreaming that she will actually be a contender candidate for President in two years time but her own political party is moving away from her self defined controversy. Nobody that extreme will ever have a chance at the White House because you need the middle of both political parties to get elected and frankly she is bat shit nuts! Beck and Limbaugh are money making machine entertainers so realistically they would raise Ronald Reagan from the dead if they could make a buck off of him. And they both have admitted to being entertainers and NOT political figures. I can understand that because I’m a blogger and not a political leader. But I’m no where near the pay grade of Beck and Limbaugh.

What does all of this mean for the November elections when it comes to the Tea Party movement? For Republicans it is a self inflicted shot in the ass simply because the people that actually vote will never buy bullshit and extreme right or left political badgering. Voters know what a rabid dog looks like. You don’t give that puppy a hug and kiss, and you certainly do not feed it and the GOP is facing that problem in November. Extremism works at rallies but just doesn’t seem to fit in the voting booth.

Healthcare Boiled Over Debate

Anyone with a heartbeat has something to say on healthcare for all Americans or they damn sure as hell should have an opinion. From business owners that have seen the gross profiteering from their health care insurance providers to the employees of those same businesses that have seen their own cost rise but services cut. The only people winning are the mega structures built to provide a new home to the next generation of Robber Barons. And yet an industry that claims that they can police themselves is recording record profits while the rest of America is losing its shirt? Does that make any sense to you?

Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican bastard to industry and that is a political and historical fact. He saw a wrong, it was un-American for the times and he sure as hell fixed it. He carried his big stick and broke up the Robber Barons for a reason, they were killing the American economy. When any industry Robber Baron thinks that they are so powerful that the laws and the liberty of all Americans is no longer of their concern because they believe to have omnipotent power, then it is up to a strong President and Federal Government to protect the American people from them.

Capitalism in America is a funny business, sometimes it serves the many but often it serves the few. There is nothing wrong with any company making a profit to survive. If I were a CEO then that would be my objective one hundred and ten percent. We are talking health care though, not gas, not steel, not oil and things that could be commodity driven. Just health care is being discussed here and frankly I have to agree with Teddy Roosevelt that it is time to take out the federal government big stick and knock the sons of bitches down a notch. As the system stands now, you would have to work for your employer and forsake all of your wages twenty years from now just to see your doctor for the sniffles. Pay your soul to the company store for anything worse than that.

Reality is simple, do the math yourself. The more people without health care means that the cost to you will rise further and higher than it has in the past. People will look back kindly when co-pays only increased twenty percent per year. Health Care CEO’s will take hundred million dollar plus bonuses and wonder how they will increase their pay the next year?

Meanwhile, ten of millions of our fellow Americans will go without regular care, never see a doctor till the cost of care goes into the millions and the sun will shine the next day regardless of political opinion one way or the other. Just make sure you wear your sunglasses as you pass the conglomerate skyscraper HMO built to make sure you get your health care bill emailed, faxed, debited from your checking account, or sent to your cell phone before you even get home from your doctor.

The health care industry is broken. It isn’t the nurses and doctors that give the care fault. It’s the white shirts in a huge glass building hundreds or thousands of miles away from the table that you sit on where they ask you to roll up your sleeve or stick out your tongue. It’s not even the emergency room hospitals fault either. Most hospitals according to some reports have to waive the bills and eat the cost of caring for people without health insurance. Where do you think that cost gets passed on to? That two dollar treatment such as Aspirin or other medication of equal cost ends up costing $250 on an insurance form from the ER.

It is time for a Teddy Roosevelt big stick. Hell yes! President Obama needs to speak softly and carry a big stick when it comes to healthcare reform. Is that not one of the biggest reasons we voted to elect President Obama and a Democrat controlled Congress? I believe we have the votes to get it done so what is the problem? Just get the job done and lets move on to the next issue!

Life gives some of us many blessings. It isn’t always monetary blessings where you can have a nice home and ample income to live comfortable. Life lessons are important also to pay it forward to someone else and change what seemed impossible. Sometimes, your act of paying it forward will make a big difference in somebody’s life and other times it just might be planting a seed. You never know.

Time to Step Up

Times are tough all around for everyone and if you ask the folks that own a small business then they see it every single day. And yet the tide of gouging the people in the middle and lower class is at the beginning of the end. No more is America held ransom by the whims of Exxon and other oil conglomerates that had a free ride under Dubya. Hundreds of millions in tax cuts for big oil and billions of profit every single quarter screamed across all of the media while you and I wondered how to pay the bills to just survive. No more is America at the mercy of banks that think they owned democracy and could do as they damn well pleased. No more is America under the threat from hostile nations because we choose the big stick first with every conversation over diplomacy for every interaction with nations of the world that don’t think like we do on every issue. Times they are a changing and we have a hero in our midst and that hero is you the people. It is the change of political thought that is breaking the backs of those that would keep all of us little people down.

President Obama is on the fast track to fix as much of the past mistakes of his predecessor and the amount of CHANGE is evident with every passing day. Isn’t it nice to see that you don’t have to take out a loan to fill your gas tank anymore? Isn’t it nice to see that the Robber Barons of Wall Street are finally being called to task for corruption in the manipulative scams they ran for the past eight plus years? Isn’t it nice to see millionaire bankers balk at taking taxpayer bailout money but having stock holders screaming for their heads to be cut off. Is it not nice to see that corporate America needs to follow the same rules and laws that those of us that work for them or with them have to follow? Those laws would be the law of decency and fairness.

Change is here and you can thank the hero within America for it. President Obama gets some credit for the change in the future of America but he is just the messenger. And he continues on the positive message and that is what he was elected to do. Our government now answers to all of the people and not just the folks with the big bucks that can or try to influence policy. We have a long way to go, but change is happening and it happens one day at a time.

Obama Risk’s GOP Slap

One has to give President Obama credit for daring to go into the lions den of Republican’s on Capitol Hill on behalf of the stimulus package and the American people. Umm, when was the last time you saw an American President kiss the ass of the Congress on any issue? Could this be a signal of the Obama style of politics has actually proven out and if the issue is important enough, the Congress can expect a visit from the executive branch of our nation and its leader? When was the last time you heard of this happening other than a television episode of the West Wing?

The President does not need to visit the capitol, the capitol needs to visit the White House! It was a large mistake in my opinion for President Obama to over reach to the right side of the political aisle in such a gesture. When the dinner table is set, the food is on the table, you do not change the menu simply because a few of the kids will not eat the peas and carrots. Mom likes peas and carrots, Dad likes peas and carrots, and the rest of the children in the family are eating peas and carrots with the rest of their dinner. Why the hell is President Obama bending over backwards for the die hard Republicans that will vote against the stimulus package regardless of what is in it?

The simple truth is that President Obama did not need to kiss anyone’s back side to get his stimulus package passed. To be honest with you, I don’t like the idea of President Obama calling anyone in the Senate or the House his colleagues. The Senate and House members can hide behind the school of fish in the numbers in the congress, the President answers to nobody but we the people. The same people that voted for CHANGE.

Ask the people what we want President Obama and let the flood gates of the people slam the dissenters of your stimulus package phone lines and email in boxes. We appreciate your taking the walk down to the hill but we elected you as President and not the minority members of the Congress. It’s called CHANGE!

Politics and 2008

The year 2008 was all about change no matter how you look at it politically. We started the year off wondering how to gas up our cars and looking at green energy with a new perspective and ended up with gas at more than half the price. I mention gasoline because the political world revolves around energy and energy is money and the politics of it all comes down to the almighty dollar. About eight or nine months ago I predicted the crash of oil prices here on this site just prior to George W Bush leaving office and oops… I was right. The scary thing to think about is that Bush could have gone down in history as the defender of America against terrorism but he succumbed to political pressure of the have too much and want more of too much. While he may have kept our nation safe from terrorist attacks he will be remembered as the President that let Wall Street kill Main Street. Then Elm Street, then Oak Street, then South and West Main Street and the list goes on.

Then we had the meltdown of politicians mostly from the right side of the aisle that seemed to exit stage right in disgrace and you can check the list at Republican Offenders website. Speaker of the House resigned, Senate President resigned, and a slew of congressmen and senators left because the picking were not looking so good with the Justice Department fast on their heals.

Out of almost nowhere comes this Senator from Illinois that speaks from his heart, talks common sense, and his mission is change. It doesn’t matter to the voters what his nationality is, his background and experience is or even if he smokes. He churns up the young people of America to get involved in politics and they do so for the first time in many generations. Much like FDR he promises hope, change, and a new beginning and it sold well at the polls. It wasn’t an easy win for Barack Obama but he did it with the help of many people that thought their voice should be heard too.

2009 should be interesting to say the least. We can look forward to many changes courtesy of the exiting President and insisted on by the new President. How it will all work out is anyone’s guess but I’m leaning to the positive side of life.

I filled the wife’s mini van from a quarter tank of gas for just under $22 today and just a couple of months ago it cost me over $60. I like that kind of change so far and Obama has not even been sworn in yet. How much more change are we going to be able to keep in our pockets once he is sworn in?

Obama Transition Selection

President Elect Barack Obama (I'm so happy to be able to type that) has to be very careful who he picks for his cabinet and transitional teams. As politics goes, he owes some favors to some people and he does not owe favors to others. That is just how the political system has always worked. Early reports are out that some of the star power he will be tapping have some serious credentials to back them up and it appears that President Obama (I love writing that by the way) is not just selecting Democrats and left wing liberals.

Colin Powell’s name has come up on various sites for either an education position or Secretary of Defense position. Former Congressman Rham Emanuel has been selected as President Obama’s (did I tell you I love writing that) Chief of Staff.

Anywho, election night television and internet reporting burned me out for most of the day today and I needed some serious veg time. Countdown had this to say on the transition to an Obama Presidency… (I still like writing that by the way)

It isn’t hard to believe that President Obama (still like writing that) will not surround himself with people that yes him to death. If you followed his campaign over the last year or more he has said that would be how his cabinet would be formed. The best, the brightest, political affiliation did not matter, and the best man or woman would fill out his administration. I’m just guessing but I’m pretty sure that your qualifications to run an organization like FEMA would have to have more than just raising horses in it? You just might have to have some serious experience with disaster management. I’m just guessing though.

We can all be pretty confident that President Obama (you know, I like how that sounds) will surround himself with people that can get the job done in the areas of leadership he places them. He has to come out with a first rate team to manage the details of the respective government organizations so he can concentrate on the legislation and changes in our federal government that have been ignored for almost a decade. In the coming days and weeks very well qualified people will either accept his request for service to our nation or beg not to be chosen. We have a rough road ahead of us and some of the best and brightest paths may move them to decline the offer. I could actually see President Obama (I like typing that) offering Senator Hillary Clinton the position of Secretary of State and she could not decline such a high profile post. I could actually see former Mayor Rudy Giuliani asked to fill the position of top gun at Homeland Security.

In a separate thought, John McCain was a true American gentleman in his concession speech on election night. Honestly, I thought it was the best speech he ever gave. In my eyes he will always be a true American hero but we just disagree on politics and the issues and the election results showed that too. Now is the time for all America to come back together and face the problems front on! Even if the houses that govern us are lopsided we still need to have them work together for the betterment of the people of America and McCain nailed that in his speech. Check it out…

I could be wrong but it would be a ball hit out of the park if President Obama (Yup, that sounds so good) embraced John McCain and asked him to help us all though the many challenges we now face. That would heal many wounds in this long and nasty election and be a true unifying offer to the political party of John McCain.

Is Yes We Can Real?

In the closing days of this Presidential election is the voice of the American people, and the only way you can change America is by voting for a new hope, a new direction. America, and Americans are tired of being subjugated as not being worthy to be Americans because we think differently on where our nation needs to be. Is it wrong to think that all of us can and have the potential to be better, give our children a better life that we never saw the possibility of? Is it wrong to think that our children can not dream of higher goals and a better life than we as parents have had? We can do better than that and we must do better than raising them in fear, in the environment of fear, in fear of people we do not know. We can lead them to hope over desperation. We can lead them in the path that is not laden with landmines if you do not tow the strict "With us or against us" thought process. America is the last melting pot in the world and all America has a general investment in our nations future! Our next leader for President needs to reflect that sentiment and not deflect it.

America brings many challenges but it also comes with the possibility of many dreams that can come true if we simply believe that change is possible. We can be better over the shouts of cynics and those that would keep us all down as a people. We are not divided but we are one nation that deserves better and we can do that together as one people. United we can fight any battle that faces us all, divided we can only survive one attack at a time. America is about challenges and not fear of enemies our government tells us we should fear, it is about confronting the reasons they are our enemies. Diplomacy is an American virtue that has been corrupted and replaced with fear and war that has no end or no answer.

America provides so many opportunities and we need not hide behind the shadow of fear of “What If”? We as a people are able to provide a better tomorrow for our babies and it is up to you as a parent to make change possible in America. One nation is better than a divided nation based on political ideology that can only offer fear.

Voting for Barack Obama is the only way to bring about the change this nation needs. John McCain is not the answer when all he has to offer is opinions of why he should be President because his opponent is only offering hope. When it comes to the hopes and dreams of all Americans I can not think of one reason that anyone would vote out of fear. It isn’t in our American blood and upbringing to do so. We know what is right and what is wrong in America and that is why we are a land of laws. In that respect I offer this must see or listen to video…

More Red States Going Blue

Not that it is a huge shock to most people but many former Red States are turning Blue in surprising numbers. Mind you, many conservative and independent voters hold a majority in these states but the polling numbers are refreshing when it comes to change in America. Whether they like Obama or not, they know that McCain is more of the same if not poison to the world they live in. Anyone at this point would be better than John McCain who has become George Bush’s clone.

Since the last Presidential election North Dakota is leaning towards Obama, Missouri is leaning towards Obama, West Virginian and Virginia is leaning towards Obama, Florida is going for Obama, Ohio is beginning to go Obama, Colorado and New Mexico are tilting toward Obama. Last but not least, North Carolina and Indiana are a toss up. And Obama is still holding all the states that John Kerry carried in the 2004 Presidential election.

Then you get states that should be a lock for McCain but are not and the race for President goes into a super blow out. States like Georgia, Mississippi and Montana that are within reach of an Obama win given the McCain campaign meltdown.

Presidential Election and Financial Crisis

I’m of the strong opinion that in order to understand the problem that our nation is facing financially you would need to know all of the facts that caused it. It is wiser to have the facts before you than just present a plan for the sake of saying you have a plan. That is just the wrong way, and a very irresponsible way to do things when your nation is facing financial collapse. There is not a band-aid big enough for this problem facing America! Senator John McCain who is running for President thinks it is as easy as that and it is not.

Anyone that has worked in quality control knows that you just don’t guess on the cause of a systems failure. You wait to get all of the facts, examples, research the probable cause of the failure, investigate all probabilities, and eventually you find the root cause of the failure. CSI (Crime Scene Investigation) is very similar to a very well run quality management system. There are steps that need to be taken before you tell the chicken to stop laying eggs because an egg broke on Wall Street. As any good lawyer will tell you, you don’t ask a question in court when you know what the real answer is. Same thing works for quality control and the same thing needs to be in place before any politician races forward with a quick fix plan such as Senator McCain has done with this nations financial market meltdown.

Barack Obama did the right thing by not offering a quick fix to this situation till he knows all the facts. Throwing hundreds of billions of dollars if not $1 Trillion dollars at this issue is not the only answer and Obama knows that. Changes in the way our nations financial markets work needs to be looked at very closely and the roll that our government played in this collapse needs to be looked at as well! There is no quick fix and as a Presidential candidate Obama and McCain are not privy to the information that President Bush, Secretary Paulson, and Fed Reserve Chairman Bernake are very well informed of.

When John McCain tells you he knows how to fix this problem and has the experience to back up his words I find serious doubt in his word. When his General Co-Chair campaign manager is Phil Gramm who derailed every opportunity he could to free up Wall Street and the financial markets and stripped the safe guards that Franklyn Roosevelt put in place to prevent another financial collapse. John McCain was right there with Gramm on these votes to suspend regulation of the banking industry so there is some root cause suspect right there.

When you look at what John McCain has said about privatizing Health Care just as he has DONE with BANKING then you see even more root cause for the financial crisis that we all will end up paying for. When you look at the stance that John McCain wanted to privatize Social Security and let it be market driven then you see more root cause to the financial crisis facing America today. Both scenarios point to a future bailout that would dwarf the current one we as American’s will have to pay for.

We all know what a lemon is when we buy it as a car, I think you can spot a lemon in a political candidate when you see one. Just last week John McCain wanted to change our nations Health Care system just like HE CHANGED our nations banking system.

If you know a retiree, then warn them that the checks they receive every month may rise or drop with the market on Wall Street if John McCain is President. Can they afford the gamble that McCain wants to take with all the years they paid into Social Security? Could they afford to live if the same crisis happened to their retirement benefit if it collapsed because Wall Street became greedy and started passing out millions of dollars in bonuses from get rich quick scams. That is exactly what happened in the housing finance markets and those that got paid are sitting fat and happy.

There was a reason why FDR put in the fail safe regulations on the markets and banking industry, it was to protect the people from losing their hard earned money. Their was a reason why John McCain and Phil Gramm removed those protections, there was money to be made by friends.

By all means, you can vote for John McCain for President but you had better learn to say “Paper or plastic” in the job you are going to have to get when you are seventy or eighty years old. Enjoy your golden years but get a job you free loaders that should have a secured retirement benefit from Social Security!

McCain and Change Does Not Add Up!

When John McCain tells you he is the agent of change then you know you are screwed. How can a Senator that voted 90% of the time with President Bush be an agent of change?

When John McCain talks about change, is he talking about what he will leave us in our paychecks so the mega millionaires like his wife can keep their tax cuts? When he talks about changing health care, no wait, he doesn’t want to really do that. When John McCain talks about changing the way things work in Washington does that mean he is going to fire all of the formerly well paid lobbyist on his campaign staff? No, he isn’t about that kind of change at all. When John McCain mentions the word change in any of his speeches he has the poker tell face that lets us all know that he is bluffing. John McCain is not about change. John McCain is for four more years of screw you Bushenomics!

If you are the type of person that is looking at this election on who is really for change then you need to look closer to what Obama has been saying for the last nineteen months. Not what John McCain has been saying for only the last two weeks!

This election for President is John McCain’s last chance at the golden ring and he will tell you whatever you want to hear to get the keys to the oval office. Only once he has those keys will you understand his full intent and message of change. John McCain’s definition of change is getting new locks on the White House doors and further separating Americans from our government.

Biden Responds to RNC Convention

Senator Biden has a legitimate point. Most of the speakers were in fact attacking the true messengers of change rather than the plans that Obama and Biden are offering America. It looks to me like Republican's are using the Karl Rove campaign handbook and that is going to lead to one very dirty political Presidential election.

Barack Obama DNC Speech

At the mile high stadium in Colorado, Barack Obama has accepted the nomination for President of the United States with an amazing and spell binding speech from the Democrat Party. Some estimates have it at 75,000 people in attendance at the mile high stadium for his speech and the coverage of this one single speech from Obama was carried around the world by more news organizations than ever before for the Democrat’s. The coverage running up to this speech was that he had to make his best speech ever and he pulled it off with an all inclusive path that makes us all Americans first. It was a speech of a lifetime.

Earlier in the news coverage there was some serious doubt about the ability of the Obama speech to be clear in a stadium setting that would work well in the homes of the millions of people watching this on television. Then there was the early release of this speech to the press and the build up as a get tough speech was enormous.

Early coverage after the piece was full of praise and kudos and he earned each and every minute of this speech that he wrote himself.

Hillary Clinton DNC Speech

Many people, mostly women voters, have no gut feeling for Obama and are thinking about tossing their vote to McCain or just voting for someone else. In my own family, my wife was a die hard supporter of Hillary Clinton and just can not vote for Obama simply because she is not the candidate running with him as Vice President. Her gut feeling is that he screwed woman over and she will not vote for him no matter what.

I think she and the many people thinking like her are wrong in casting their vote to McCain if they do not vote for anyone else other than Obama. The result of this disenfranchisement is the same result that Al Gore faced against Bush in 2000 and lost the election because of Ralph Nader who ran a spoiler campaign. If this thought process is so widespread then John McCain will be the next President and you can look at $8.00 per gallon for gas and toss your humanity out the window as he militarily engages every single nut job nation to save the oil industry interest for America. Toss out your health care as it is today and watch your paycheck drop to nothing as the insurance industry writes the laws for another lazy President to dictate that your health insurance cost should rise by hundreds of percentage points simply because the people writing the laws need more money out of your pockets. Banking industries will be once more set free to pillage the land like Attila the Hun attacking the disadvantage again so we could repeat the Keating Savings and Loan scandal. Repeal all of the choice issues when it comes to your body and toss the shredded remains at the feet of your savior John McCain simply because you cast your vote for him or any other candidate other than Barack Obama.

Originally I supported Joe Biden for President just based on his foreign relations expertise that is unmatched by any other person in all of our nations government services. Politicians anyway. I switched to Obama because of his message and insistence on change and the fact that Hillary Clinton was going negative during her primary campaign. They both have the same positions on almost every single issue which is why there was such a tough primary process.

Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama had such a hard fight in the Democratic Party primary election only because they are both so close on all of the issues. Both Hillary and Barack are for a national health plan, McCain is not, both are for getting out of Iraq and bringing our troops home, McCain would be happy to be there 100 years, both are for rebuilding America, McCain wants to sell out to special interest and big oil, both Clinton and Obama are very pro women’s rights and that is the final thought. John McCain would toss woman’s rights and advancement back to the 1960’s with his selection of extreme right wing Supreme Court Justices. John McCain is not even comparable to Hillary Clinton on any issue. His position is that woman should shut the hell up, let men dominate them, and should just be seen and not heard. Those words were typed by a father of five daughters and their future is very important to me! I do not want my five daughters living their lives as subservient and not worthy, this is America and not Saudi Arabia. My daughters are being raised in America and they too should have every opportunity to change the world they live in. John McCain does not care about the other half of the population that just happens to be female.

Hillary Clinton inspired over 18 million people to vote for her in the primary. Her fight and battle for the Presidential nomination of her political party was honorable and historical. She alone proved that woman are not just equal in politics but can in fact win enough votes to move the woman’s rights issues forward not just one step but hundreds of steps.

In Hillary Clinton’s DNC Convention speech in Denver she threw her heart and soul behind Obama for President but not for political reason but because she too believes in change. Change that she believes that only Obama can bring to America. With her help he just might be able to move our nation forward with the change that is needed and in the direction back to our nations people. What if Hillary Rodham Clinton made the arguement that I am trying to impress on her lost supporters? Would her own words be enough to change their minds? Hillary Clinton is a driving force in this election and the wisdom she recited from Harriet Tubman on keep it going, and keep running is what America needed to hear. Our children and their future is in the hands of the people backing Hillary Clinton. She will be backing Obama simply because they have the same thoughts on many issues. Unity in the Democratic Party has begun and the message from Hillary Clinton tonight was all about those of us less fortunate, struggling through life, and working hard to better our lives and our children’s future. In Hillary Clinton’s words, “No way, no how, no McCain!” I have to agree with the Senator from New York on that thought. Please don't toss away your vote and thus toss a vote to McCain for President. Change is coming and it isn't found in the John McCain for President message.

Side Bar: Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman of MSNBC obviously have some personal and professional arguments and that was very obvious as Chris Matthews called Keith Olberman on the carpet several times during the coverage of the nights events. Matthews looked like a jerk in doing so each and every single time he got pissed off at Keith Olberman. Then I was wondering if the Pat Buchanan and Rachel Maddow spats and aggressive arguments was staged or real life thoughts. Knowing Rachel Maddow, it was real life anger.

McCain Oxymoron

This next Presidential election can make or break this country when you really think about it. America is about looking forward, it isn’t about looking back other than learning from our mistakes. John McCain is running for President based on his life experience and not on the possibility of what we can be as a people. I have enormous respect for Senator McCain but his vision of the future of America scares the hell out of me. Where he sees progress in Iraq, I see a quagmire that could never end if he is elected and then 100 years of American troops dying in Iraq would in fact be a reality.

Is that a promise of change or is that a guarantee of more of the same in thinking that the body bag factory will be in the black for another hundred years? Red state or Blue state, your children are in our military and that is just to high a price to pay for a war that was a lie to begin with. Afghanistan, hell yes! That is where the Taliban and the scum bag Osama Bin Laden were in co-hoots. One hundred years more in Afghanistan, no! Just like Iraq, Afghanistan must stand on its own and defend itself against scum like Al-Quaida and any other terrorist threat. Our nation can not be the police for the world. If that is what the world expects of us then the United Nations needs to fork over a check for one trillion dollars every year to the U.S. Treasury.

Getting past all of that war crap and the lies that go with it, our nation is broken, busted, out of sink, and on a downward spiral. The damage of W is done and it will take a decade to recover from it. While our government is spending hundreds of billions of dollars to defend a people that really don’t want freedom, our own people are falling by the wayside. Do you think that the billions of dollars allocated for the war in Iraq could have paid for a national health care plan times five?

How about making higher education free for all children in America? How far would a hundred billion tax dollars go to pay for that and actually for the American people every three months? How about taking care of our elderly that need nursing home care? How far would a couple hundred billion every three months go to pay for that? What about our infrastructure and roads and bridges that are in serious disrepair? What about putting one hundred billion into Social Security to make sure it is funded past the year 2100? This list could go on and on but McBush is more of the same and I can’t honestly see even one reason to vote for him for President. George Bush is all about spending billions of our tax dollars overseas and claiming to be a conservative when it comes to any spending bill when it comes to real life Americans. John McCain has voted in favor of every Bush intitiative for spending more overseas and against anything for American's including Veteran benefits and care. Billions for Iraq, nothing for Americans?

Hope, change, and a different perspective is coming from a new generation of Americans and if the message of Obama is change then his plans to make it happen can be a reality if he is elected President. Hope is a funny word, it means that better days are ahead and better times are coming. Isn’t that what all parents want for their children and their future? Given what President Bush has done to this economy, John McCain pointing his campaign of four more years of the same just isn’t selling well. Or he just can’t sell it as a candidate for President.

Many folks in the Libertarian and Conservative movement are abandoning McCain because his message is just weak. You can’t sell a policy of more of the same that busts the treasury and still claim to be a conservative. That is an oxymoron and you just can't sell a message that busts the federal budget when you claim to be a budget hawk.

Real Clear Politics Polls

Over at Real Clear Politics (RCP) they are showing a huge move from red state to moderate, middle of the road, on the fence thinking about their votes for Obama over McCain. This is a huge upset for the Republican Party and the damage is their political parties own damn fault! All of the lies, deception, “Can’t touch me”, and “Those laws do not apply to me because I am an elected official of the US Congress” are catching up fast and furious to the red state Republican’s. That and the fact that the current President has pretty much torn up the Constitution because his interpretation of “We the People” is far different than what the founding father’s actually stated. That might explain his current approval rating at 28% and the Congress at 17%.

I’m going to be straight with you and tell you right now that the next election will look nothing like the past two for President of the United States of America. This will not be even a close race for several reasons and I’ll list them out for you. Number one is the war in Iraq and the lies that lead all of us into it. WMD’s were a lie, Yellow Cake was a lie and the Plame scandal outing a CIA operative in the field just added up to more lies on top of more lies.

Number two is the corruption or thought of probable corruption with no bid contracts for that war with the largest of chunks of billions of tax dollars going to none other than the former firm CEO that is our Republican Vice President Dick Cheney. Then to avoid the long arm of the law the firm Cheney once headed pulled up stakes in America and moved its world headquarters to… Dubai!

Three, and this one is really important, the mass exodus of die hard conservative and staunch Republicans from red states through resignation or indictment that supposedly had strong “Family Values” but assisted in, were part of, tried covering up, or were actually accused of sexually deviant adventures as elected members of the Congress. You can not preach family values, God, the Bible, and American values and then do the exact opposite.

Four, Americans do not like to be told that you just have to deal with it because you are an oil addict. President Bush’s only answer to our nations energy crisis and the cost of gas at the pump is to drill for more oil, not research programs to fund alternative sources exploration, not science programs to expand our knowledge of potential new resources, just a slap upside the head from a former oil executive that “We the People” are addicts and should be ashamed. President Bush has never, not once, nope, not even during a time of war asked “We the People” to cut back, conserve energy during a time of war. Just his statement that we should all go “Shopping”!

Last but not least, coming in fifth is the tax cuts for millionaires that President Bush passed and Senator McCain who as a Conservative once thought was a fiscal disaster now wants to keep in the worst way. Ergo, taxes on the rich are bad, which McCain is in fact one, with his wife’s assets estimated at over $100 million dollars. Passing the buck to the little people makes more sense somehow in McCain's mind. After all there is more of them than people like him above it all so to speak.

With all of these reasons, John McCain with his following of Bush on every major issue is in fact a clone now known as John McBush. People see through the path that Bush once plowed into a field that will never even grow weeds and that is why the following states are now no longer diehard red states:

Nevada
Colorado
New Mexico (Bush wanted to Annex it but it was already a state)
Missouri
Indiana
Ohio
Virginia
North Carolina
Florida

Dare I add other states to this list? Damn straight if Obama shows some Presidential potential backbone on his current trip to Iraq and Afghanistan. Provided Obama does not screw up Sunni and Shia and other tribes names in Iraq, forget the name of the current leader in any nation he visits, or misspeak on any issue relevant to the nation he is in during this trip, then he should or could change the polling numbers by a large percentage in other red states as well. Just a thought for you to think about, if you are worried about his messing up facts and details… Obama is a Harvard University graduate that was at the top of his class. He studies topics and recalls them fairly well when asked about it. He is not George Bush or John McCain. He is never one to quote Homer Simpson with a “Dhut” explanation.

When you really think about it, the Bush administration has allowed corporate America to run shotgun on our economy and in doing so we have lost our way on how to be the best in the world. While not just jobs but entire industries have been sent overseas the current occupant of the Presidency is the actual cause for this failing economy and is still looking the other way. So is the Republican nominee for President of the United States of America.

Salvation, hope, whatever you want to call it is not in electing just a President but electing someone that actually believes in honest change for the better. While McCain is grasping and gasping for the Bush 28% approval rating he has lost his way like oh so many of us in America. change of the status quo just isn't in his heart and he can not sell it. That is why "We the People" will change our own lives for better times come November.

Campaign Speech Writers Secret

One of the key things to any potential political candidate for President is a group of damn good speech writers. In every speech written is a message that you want to convey and apparently the Clinton campaign has a bunch of chimpanzees wildly typing and hoping that eventually War and Peace will come out. Hillary Clinton is in the mud flinging stage of politics and Barack Obama is if not far behind, catching up with her. Somewhere in the dust are the speech writers typing away with weeks ago news. Fire them ALL! Either the speech writers do not get it or the candidates do not get it. Either way, fire the speech writers. One can not blame the candidate for being wrong if the speech writers do not have a pulse on what is actually happening.

One word… BUSH! One of the idiotic and yet genius tactics of Bush/Rove campaigns was repeating the same message over and over again and neither of the Democrat candidates have clued into this fact. Other than “Change” for Barack which is working out fairly well and I have 35 years of experience from Hillary which is not working out so well there is a problem. Both candidates campaigns do not have a clue how to win this race with a knock out punch.

Don’t tell anyone other than the fact that you read it hear first at Papamoka Straight Talk about what you are about to read. This is top secret information from real people in the know on everything political. Pinky swear and spit on your palm and shake your mouse. Do it or you can not read any further into this post. I mean it! I have access to chain emails that will make your cats tail fall off and your dog will pee on every piece of furniture you own. Do it!

That was gross if you actually did it but I digress. The key to both candidates is not attacking one another but attacking the other guy running for President in the Republican Party. Shhhh! Close the door and pull the shades. John McCain is who they should both be going after and pointing out the differences between them both. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are two close to call opponents in this election and the only one that will actually win the race is the one that delivers the message against McCain best. Slinging mud against one another is like putting a bullet through your engine because the oil filter needs replacing. The horse power is dead but so is your transportation to work.

At this point in the political primary the differences of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton comes down to a popularity contest no matter what issue they are discussing. As a voter and a Democrat I’m good with either one. That is the dilemma and why they should be attacking not what they each stand for but what the Emperor in Chief part TWO John McCain does not stand for.

Yes We Can

In the world of post 9/11 we have lived in the shadow of fear and the never ending threat of possible future terrorist attacks. As a parent of five daughters I am fearful of the future they will have to live in if this mindset continues. Our world has changed but the possibilities that they should have as American’s should never be less than what I have had.

America has never been about what we should be afraid of as much as it is has always been about what we can all do together. We as a people will not prosper if we are forever looking ahead of us with a sense of dread and danger with every step. Our world has never been perfect and yet the future is only bright if we look at the future as a new adventure with unknown surprises that together we can all overcome. We can not overcome our fears of the probabilities if the messengers of our government are burning the olive branches offered as kindling to heat the cold halls of our government. Our nation was not built on fear but on determination to secure a brighter and better future for the next generation to come.

We need change and we need inspiration from our leaders. Separation of the people to achieve political objectives is over and the time for new ideas, new dreams, and hope is upon us. Together we can make a difference. “Yes we can” is an American right of passage and yes we can make America a better place together.

It’s the Economy Stupid… Again!

Now that reality and what it means to be an actual American is in the head lights of the politicians running for President maybe they will all see that it is the economy that is the heartbeat of America. With the hundreds of billions of dollars flowing out of America to pay for an endless war it is finally hitting home in the nations capitol.

We have had eight years of a President that simply can not stand Americans but loves to only show up at military bases and closed public meetings that are invitation only events. It has been a late revelation to me but something I have slowly put together over the last few days but I’m sure others have conceived the thought before I. George Bush is terrified to be President.

We have had eight years of a President that does not see the tasks of lenders that would lead to a housing market and ownership collapse. One thing that all economist know as the standard bar to base our economy on is the housing market. Right now and for a long time now the housing market has been in a free fall. And just not the President but the entire Congress has looked the other way from the millionaire club seats that most of them come from. None of them have lost their homes and most likely not one soul that they are familiar with has lost their home. While President Bush is on the road to the Middle East all you have to do is watch his body language to see that the suit does not fit. He is no more comfortable with that situation as much as he is facing the fact that he and our government can no longer fix the housing market free fall.

But now, as candidates fan out across the country, visiting places as varied as the factory towns of Michigan and streets lined with unsold condominiums in Las Vegas, voters are increasingly demanding that they focus on the best way to keep the economy from slipping off the tracks. - New York Times

Americans need to face the facts and know that the government is no longer there to help you. That is till you stop paying taxes and feeding the machine with a bottomless appetite. Then they really care about you as an individual. So much so they will provide you with three square meals a day, a bed and a room mate to talk to in your prison cell.

Some how it was decided that everyone needs to stand on their own two feet. Be you man, woman or beast you must stand on your own two feet! Then the Republicans gutted the Veterans Administration that treated all the so called leaches needing medical help that fought for the nation they love. That is the true difference between a Democrat and a Republican, Democrats will recognize a veteran that was disabled in service to their nation, Republicans look at them as an expense on the backs of hard working people. One of them is wrong.

I know what the loss of hope is. I’ve lived it, I’ve fought it and still fight it every single day. So does every single American under the screw you and do it your damn self policies of the Republican Party. That is why change is so critical in our nation right now in this point in time. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can bitch and moan who moved or advanced civil rights to the center stage of American politics and it wasn’t John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson or even Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It was people that were sick and tired of the loss of hope. People like you, your neighbor and people that knew America could be better. People in mass made the difference by seeking change in their elected leaders.

A good friend reminded me that some people believe that Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves but it was not only his actions and words that eventually lead to that freedom existing in this nation. It was the actions of many willing to fight for that freedom and die for it. Not just white men but black men as well. Words are easy, fighting for what you believe in and putting your life on the line for it are true forms of courage that few politicians have the stomach for.

When Barack and Hillary figure out who is a racist and who is a bitch then somebody please pass a note or tell them that “It’s the damn economy!” Vote for change or fight for your bread in the next economy.

Maybe the problem we as Americans have is we keep electing millionaires as President that have forgotten what it is truly like to be hungry. Not politically hungry, stomach pain, have not eaten hungry.
