A Woman Has No Reproductive Rights

The Republican's are right on the money. All you woman that think you own your uterus and reproductive organs are nut jobs that need a lobotomy. Maybe you need that lobotomy to get some common sense into your head! No offense intended but the GOP thinks that all of you woman should be put in your place and know your place. Steppford Wives is not a bad thing if you will just do what you are told. Know your place woman and the world will be fine. There should be barbed wire around your reproductive organs to protect the world from nut jobs that think that woman have certain rights over their own bodies. What the hell are you whack job woman thinking? I think the GOP should bring back chastity belts too. And Berkas.

God only knows, the only woman that any good Republican man could ever trust and have faith in was his mother.

This is the message of the GOP. God bless them. Everyone should vote for the GOP just because it is the right thing to do. For men. I think it's written in the bible or something but I could be wrong. Vote for them for congress, for the senate, and especially for president. We need to fix this nation and only a strong GOP government can do that by telling all of you woman how messed up you are in thinking that you own any part of your body. All you woman that have the right to vote now because of that bitch Susan B. Anthony should vote for the Democrat. What's his face... O something or other.

100,000 Prove Polls Wrong in MO

This picture of 100,000 people attending an Obama rally in St. Louis, Missouri today pretty much proves that the polls are all out of whack! Missouri has predominantly been a Red State and Obama has proven that there is no such thing as a Red State or Blue State in America once more. If the race and election for President is so tight then how is it that a Democrat like Obama can draw the largest crowd ever in political history in America?

Barack Obama attracted 100,000 people at a Saturday rally here, his biggest crowd ever at a U.S. event.

The crowd assembled under the Gateway Arch on a sunny Saturday afternoon to hear Obama speak about taxes and slam the Republicans on economic issues.

Lt. Samuel Dotson of the St. Louis Police Department confirmed the number of attendees piled into the grassy lawn by the Mississippi River.

To be sure, big crowds don’t always signal a big turnout on Election Day. But Obama’s ability to draw his largest audience yet in a typically red state that just weeks ago looked out of reach, could signal a changing electoral map.

For months Missouri polls put Obama as much as ten percentage points behind Republican John McCain. It was widely believed that McCain’s pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate would have won over the state’s conservatives and boosted his chances there. So far, that hasn’t happened.

I’m beginning to think that the election is not even close when you see such a huge turnout like this one with two weeks to go till the election. If this is the case in Missouri then what is really going on around the rest of the nation? Are other states not showing their true polling numbers and real support for Obama in this election? I’m thinking that the polling industry needs to be looked at seriously and revamped into the cell phone based culture of America. Realistically, this kind of rally for Obama proves the polling numbers could be off by five to ten points easily!

I have to say this story in the Wall Street Journal just blew me away! 100,000 people at one rally isn’t even funny for a Saturday afternoon event in a major city like St. Louis. I can see the spin coming from the McCain campaign that they were all downtown to pay parking fines at city hall or desperately searching for the John McCain St. Louis Headquarters. Ya, thats the ticket!

I’m sorry to say but I don’t trust any of the polling numbers anymore where it calls for a close election by any means in any state. Barack Obama can draw crowds such as this simply because the American people are starving for true leadership, compassion for the less fortunate, and common sense in our next President of the United States of America. All I can say is “Wow!”

McCain Oxymoron

This next Presidential election can make or break this country when you really think about it. America is about looking forward, it isn’t about looking back other than learning from our mistakes. John McCain is running for President based on his life experience and not on the possibility of what we can be as a people. I have enormous respect for Senator McCain but his vision of the future of America scares the hell out of me. Where he sees progress in Iraq, I see a quagmire that could never end if he is elected and then 100 years of American troops dying in Iraq would in fact be a reality.

Is that a promise of change or is that a guarantee of more of the same in thinking that the body bag factory will be in the black for another hundred years? Red state or Blue state, your children are in our military and that is just to high a price to pay for a war that was a lie to begin with. Afghanistan, hell yes! That is where the Taliban and the scum bag Osama Bin Laden were in co-hoots. One hundred years more in Afghanistan, no! Just like Iraq, Afghanistan must stand on its own and defend itself against scum like Al-Quaida and any other terrorist threat. Our nation can not be the police for the world. If that is what the world expects of us then the United Nations needs to fork over a check for one trillion dollars every year to the U.S. Treasury.

Getting past all of that war crap and the lies that go with it, our nation is broken, busted, out of sink, and on a downward spiral. The damage of W is done and it will take a decade to recover from it. While our government is spending hundreds of billions of dollars to defend a people that really don’t want freedom, our own people are falling by the wayside. Do you think that the billions of dollars allocated for the war in Iraq could have paid for a national health care plan times five?

How about making higher education free for all children in America? How far would a hundred billion tax dollars go to pay for that and actually for the American people every three months? How about taking care of our elderly that need nursing home care? How far would a couple hundred billion every three months go to pay for that? What about our infrastructure and roads and bridges that are in serious disrepair? What about putting one hundred billion into Social Security to make sure it is funded past the year 2100? This list could go on and on but McBush is more of the same and I can’t honestly see even one reason to vote for him for President. George Bush is all about spending billions of our tax dollars overseas and claiming to be a conservative when it comes to any spending bill when it comes to real life Americans. John McCain has voted in favor of every Bush intitiative for spending more overseas and against anything for American's including Veteran benefits and care. Billions for Iraq, nothing for Americans?

Hope, change, and a different perspective is coming from a new generation of Americans and if the message of Obama is change then his plans to make it happen can be a reality if he is elected President. Hope is a funny word, it means that better days are ahead and better times are coming. Isn’t that what all parents want for their children and their future? Given what President Bush has done to this economy, John McCain pointing his campaign of four more years of the same just isn’t selling well. Or he just can’t sell it as a candidate for President.

Many folks in the Libertarian and Conservative movement are abandoning McCain because his message is just weak. You can’t sell a policy of more of the same that busts the treasury and still claim to be a conservative. That is an oxymoron and you just can't sell a message that busts the federal budget when you claim to be a budget hawk.

Presidency and the Voters Temperature

Is it ironic that we as a people can not trust any politician running for President to tell us what they will do once elected based on what the current President has done to our nation?

When you think about the truth in politics you always look at it as a cloud that could be dispersed if the winds change. Public opinion is now no longer relevant if the latest polls say that a candidate for President should be on this side of the issue or against this other issue. I’ll offer one further point with the main stream media dictating as to whom is first, second and third and laughingly pointing out who the hell should just up and quit campaigning in each political party. Has the office of President been sold to the highest tally polling Lemming?

I respect all of the candidates running for President for the most part because they all want to serve our nation and the price to do so is personally expensive. For some the cost is just a matter of writing out just another check but for others it is the cost to the human spirit that can be wiped out. Personal attacks on everything from the color of your skin to your gender are all up for grabs and a person has to have a tough skin for it. Running for President is not for the weak of mind or spirit. Then again, being the President is not the easiest job in the world either. People will love you or absolutely despise you no matter what you do as President.

We all look at the issues as an individual and we can form our own opinions based on our own life experience but there is always room for more information and thought on the subject. Not everyone is a Liberal on all issues and not everyone is a Conservative based on the little letter next to your name on your voter registration log. This nation does not revolve around politics and exact political affiliation but does revolve around the individual voters when massed in a similar thought process. Our election process for our nations government can claim the groups but not the individuals no matter how much money they have in the bank.

Voter apathy when it comes to the Presidency of the United States of America is very high. With the last two elections being a mockery of the election process it is understandable that people can believe that it is not worth wasting your time to vote or even participate in the process. Today over dinner at a local fish and chips establishment, I overheard a young man in his twenties rant on to his father why his vote does not mean anything when it comes time to whom is elected President. His father did not have an argument valid enough with facts that would have changed his son’s mind. That is just one case of voter apathy transferring backwards to the previous generation. That is just one case of one young man that will probably never vote for the rest of his life.

When it comes to an individual actually taking the time to vote in any election process it is more than just about the individual vote. My vote on one issue and one candidate in my local elections may not match up with my one vote on another issue in the same election. Just as my vote for Congress may not match up with the likely candidate for Senate or President or vice versa. Voting is the ultimate thermometer of the nation and the choice of the people.

All Americans need to think about the nation as a child, when the child is well the nation is best suited to the government its people has elected. If the child is sick and the temperature is in the danger zone then the votes of the few add up to the votes of the many and change is initiated by the results of the election process. High temp, change course, administer election medicine and vote again in two years.

I’m not sure how the co-pay on this national health care voting process works when it comes to the welfare of our nation but I’m pretty sure that in the long run the nation will survive yet another Presidential election. I do know this, the time for change is at hand and talking softly but carrying a big stick fit’s the nation now more than ever.

What do the Democrats for President Offer?

Somewhere in the process of finding out what a Presidential candidate is saying and what the sound bite is, you can sometimes see where the candidates true stance is on any issue. Political writers make a fortune for writing good copy that is read or recited ten thousand times over and over by the same person in just one campaign swing. Being human, even our best political practitioners do not buy the mush that is supposed to come out of the money making end of a politician.

Right now the fifty or so contenders for the Democrats nomination for President are talking to anyone that will listen. I don’t buy the two minute blurb on the news from any candidate because you know it was a practiced response. Give me the drive by microphone as the relaxed candidates are leaving an event and I’ll believe those unprepared captured comments any single day of the week.

Smoke and Mirrors to a bad Comb Over?

I’m not by any means a great fan of Rudy Giuliani (Me too Republican But…) in the upcoming elections and he continuously reaffirms my sentiment and personal dislike of him. While he is trying his best to scoop up the Republican base, or for that matter what Bush has left of it, he fails to come off even remotely sincere. Rather than offering guidance and hope to the American people he is offering four more years of George W. Bush. More shiny objects over here while he will continue the Bush policy of hiding what he too as President will be doing somewhere else.

In the former Mayor of the Big Apples case it will be a diversion in hair care and the comb over might be straight back, to the right, or to the left. It will not matter what kind of hair cut you want from the Mayor because he is going to do things…”My way”.

Over at the Washington Post they have a great piece on the Mayors comments recently about Democrats being losers for offering something, anything in regards to the Iraq, Afghanistan wars. The reply from Senator Joe Biden was to the point and right for the jugular of Giuliani’s remarks.

On Thursday, during a stop in Houston, Giuliani called Democrats "the party of losers" for demanding a scheduled pullout of U.S. troops from Iraq.

"Democrats have already declared we've lost," the former New York mayor said. "It's really strange. The Democrats want to give our enemies a timetable."

That drew a quick retort from Democratic candidate Sen. Joe Biden.

"It is absurd for Rudy Giuliani to call Democrats 'losers' after five years of failed Republican policies in Iraq," the Delaware senator said in a statement issued Friday.

Biden said cheap shots wouldn't make the United States or its troops any safer.

"Giuliani and the rest of the Republican candidates continue to cling to this administration's failed policy that a strong central government can be propped up in Iraq," Biden said. "If these are the positions he wants to defend, I invite him to debate me on these important topics."

Giuliani sidestepped a question on whether embattled Attorney General Alberto Gonzales should resign, saying the case has been distorted by partisanship in Washington.

"I think in the last six months it is quite possible the Democrats in Congress have set a record for subpoenas," he said. - Washington Post

Just a general correction for the former Mayor to think about, subpoenas are issued only when there is enough evidence to suggest that the law has been broken. Who were the ones that allegedly broken the laws of our land? Why did they allegedly break the law? I’m pretty sure that you just can’t make stuff up and issue subpoenas like lottery tickets.

What Giuliani is selling the moderates will not or should not buy. He is selling the horror of 9/11 and what it did to the people of his city on that tragic day. Personally, I think he should be ashamed for selling himself off as America’s strongest Mayor in a time of crisis like we all as Americans had on that day. He was not the one to bring America together, President Bush gets some credit for that but the people of America deserve the credit for more so. Together as a nation we all felt the need for revenge at one level or another. That is something none of us can deny. Our nation was aggressively attacked on that day and if you honestly think about it, revenge was in your mind. Eye for an eye was there in the back of your mind eating away at you. Action and reaction to the attack was called for and delivered by somewhat devious ways.

There have been some major mistakes by OUR government in the lead up to this multi front war and the perpetuation of mistakes to cover it up have only divided our great nation further. We need leaders that will speak from the heart and not from any political party play book sent down from the RNC or the DNC. America needs a new leader with fresh ideas and a very much different perspective from our current President. This coming election for our nations President should not be about George W. Bush. It should be about where we as Americans want to go from the point in time when he leaves office.

We can all bitch and moan over what one political candidate says against the other over the past mistakes on both political sides of the isle till the cows come home, or we can look to the future nation we want to pass down to our children. What we need to focus on is our nations future. We can continue down the road of this President or we can choose a path that is better and wiser.

Diplomacy from America is not dead, it has just been put on the back burner for a couple of administrations. We can either send out ten thousand diplomats to talk to nations around the world or propagate the Bush Doctrine of sending more troops to die for a cause that will never end.

Pick one? Peace amongst men by talking or foreign nations living in fear of America? That is the guts of this upcoming Presidential election and “We the People” have the power to make that choice.

Dems Combat Bush over Woman’s Rights

I think that it is a given fact that you will not find Mitt Romney or Uncle Rudi, Super Vet John McCain or any other Republican running for President at a Planned Parenthood convention. Much like President Bush having a hand selected audience the Dems supposedly pulled out all the stops against a women’s freedom of choice but I could not find one iota of information in this article where they talked about the Republican candidates actually running for President.

While this was great fodder for the political press nobody landed a damn punch against any of the Republicans other than George W. Bush? I could not believe my eyes and I had to re-read this piece over and over at the New York Times…

Democrats Attack Bush on Women’s Health Issues

WASHINGTON, July 17 — In a rousing indictment of the Bush administration and the Supreme Court it created, Senator Baracj Obama told a Planned Parenthood convention here on Tuesday that the next election would decide a fundamental question: “What kind of America will our daughters grow up in?”

The speech by Mr. Obama, of Illinois, came on a day when the leading candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination expressed their commitment to reversing the Bush administration’s approach to abortion rights, judicial appointments, sex education and contraception.

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton declared that President Bush had consistently “played politics with women’s health.” She added, “He has chipped away at reproductive rights, and he has worked to turn Washington, D.C., into an evidence-free zone where facts are subordinate to ideology.”

Mrs. Clinton, of New York, argued that the Bush administration and its conservative allies had undermined and underfinanced longstanding education and family planning programs while heavily favoring abstinence education. She added, to cheers, “I want you to know that when I’m president, I will devote my very first days in office to reversing these ideological, antiscience, antiprevention policies that this administration has put into place.”

Mr. Obama, who was repeatedly interrupted by applause, said the recent Supreme Court decision upholding a federal ban on a type of abortion was the beginning of a profound retreat on women’s rights, and should be presented that way to the voters. - New York Times


I don’t know what they were all thinking. This is a political race of a lifetime and these folks are slamming Bush when they should be focused on the Mini-Publicans over on the other side of the ballot. Granted the piece does not give a carbon copy of each candidates speech to the Planned Parenthood convention but no where in it does it say that Romney is Pro Life for now but it might rain tomorrow and he might change his mind. No where does the article list any other candidates position on the other side of the ballot!

Who the hell is writing these peoples speeches and why haven’t the candidates fired them? Get rid of the kid gloves and enter the political arena like you want to win the highest office of the land. Running for President takes some serious guts and it takes calculated risks. If you are going to give a speech to a group that is for all intents and purposes Pro Abortion then point out and state from the opposing party who is not. Point out the logical reasons why a candidate like Mitt Romney flip flops on the issue. Point out that Guliani is a Catholic but in the past and somewhat in the present he is flip flopping on this serious issue.

Most of America already knows President Bush is an idiot, been there and done that the last election cycle. There is a good probability that a Democrat will be elected to the White House but it will not be someone that is screaming the loudest “Me Too!”. I would tend to think that the moderates and centrists of the political parties would like to see some serious points on why one person or party is better than the other before we all have to vote for someone for President.

Show some damn political guts and play the cards you have people. Convince the people in the middle that you have the audacity to call a spade a spade and if the folks over on the other side want to damn you for it then you welcome the free publicity. Winning the hearts of the middle of the political spectrum is an art form woven with comments that you believe in and statements of intentions of perspective. More importantly, fire your speech writers. They missed an opportunity of a lifetime to transfer the message through the candidates mouths to left leaning moderates ears.

Hillary Clinton

Can Hillary Clinton be the best what the DNC has to give? Or is Barack Obama up for it? Toss aside the rest of the Democrat Candidates. I'll miss Bill Richardson but he has not gotten the game that is politics. All I am seeing is the me too candidates and it is not exciting the mains stream press by any means.

With the drive for super primary days in the future the field of political candidates in both parties will clear quicker than last call at the corner bar. The selection process has now been hi-jacked by the need to be first in the selection of candidates and that ends up with just one result.

Who can cash a billion dollar check made out by the next office holder of the White House?

Belly up to the bar special interests... both parties included. Sad.

Political Honesty

Politicians are great at telling you what you want to hear all the time. Sometimes when you actually get the chance to meet a real elected politician you can feel the sense of being in the presence of greatness and you should. Then again you have to remember that they use the same damn bathrooms you do and some of them do not wash their hands as often as they should.

We all know that the President has the Congress by the old short gray hairs and his trump card is the military. As much as this President wants to continue his private war in Iraq is just as much the same levity as the Congress wanting to end the war in Iraq. From two perspectives there has to be one and our nations military can not and should not be a pawn in this chess game of millionaires. Moving a Rook to take a Bishop is one thing but having to move the entire chess board to take down the King is another task.

From my perspective the new Congress has no clue how to play the game of chess that is politics and the President is very confident in his game. Just look at all the pieces that he has sacrificed to win his will? There is no piece on the board including the Queen that is not disposable. Pelosi and Reid are playing a weak strategy and the President is taking them out for a walk around the board. Check Mate is not truly in their game plan. Time is what they are counting on and that is a very weak strategy and the President knows it.

While he watches all the players fall around him he will survive because they are not strong enough to win the game that is Washington politics. Just as in chess games by the masters in the middle of play you are not thinking about your next move but ten moves later and that is where the President has the Congress. He is set in his strategy and they are fumbling on what the next move is.

Knight has the King at check mate is not in this Congress ability and President Bush knows it. All of his Pawns that are the Military are the Democrats weakest link and the President has no problem putting them in harms way to protect his spot on the board. It is political suicide to go against our sons and daughters in battle and Bush knows it and lives it.

Pieces on the chess board sacrificed by President Bush are numerous but the will of the voting people of America is stronger than the Presidency. That is one move he never planned on.

Pawn takes King.

Was Hillary Clinton the Mother Theresa of Walmart?

The simple answer to the question of this post is an out right no. As the wife of the Governor of Arkansas she was on the list of candidates of woman that chose to serve on the board of Walmart. It by no means didn’t hurt that she was also a very large contributor to the Rose law firm that oversaw many legal cases for the smiley face mega retailer.

Back in the day when the wife of Governor Bill Clinton was on the Board of Directors of Walmart she did have some influence on the corporations directions no matter how you look at it. However much like most Boards that oversee any corporation in America their power is strictly limited. Boards can suggest directions for the corporation to move in and that is it. Yes a Board of Directors can direct CEO’s to progressively move the company one way or the other but they can not over rule the likes of a CEO like Sam Walton.

Over at the New York Times they have this near miss slam on Senator Clinton and frankly the piece makes me reconsider her legitimate candidacy for the Presidency…

Clinton Moved Wal-Mart Board, but Only So Far

In 1986, Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart, had a problem. He was under growing pressure from shareholders — and his wife, Helen — to appoint a woman to the company’s 15-member board of directors.

So Mr. Walton turned to a young lawyer who just happened to be married to the governor of Arkansas, where Wal-Mart is based: Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mrs. Clinton’s six-year tenure as a director of Wal-Mart, the nation’s largest company, remains a little known chapter in her closely scrutinized career. And it is little known for a reason. Mrs. Clinton rarely, if ever, discusses it, leaving her board membership out of her speeches and off her campaign Web site.

Fellow board members and company executives, who have not spoken publicly about her role at Wal-Mart, say Mrs. Clinton used her position to champion personal causes, like the need for more women in management and a comprehensive environmental program, despite being Wal-Mart’s only female director, the youngest and arguably the least experienced in business. On other topics, like Wal-Mart’s vehement anti-unionism, for example, she was largely silent, they said. - New York Times

I happen to be of the opinion that change in any large corporation has to start with one voice and I honestly believe that Hillary Clinton was that first voice at Walmart. My first point would be that she was the first woman on the Board of Directors for Walmart and she fought the battles she knew that she could possibly win. Woman in the workplace and especially at senior management levels was unheard of before her tenure at Walmart.

Environmental impact and footprint issues for new stores was her idea and suggestion as a member of the Board of Directors for Walmart. How many other issues did she have suggestive power and the conviction to know that it was the fight of that time that could be won by just one woman among many powerful men at Walmart? Suggestion is the key word here.

Anyone that logically thinks that a young respected woman attorney that was also the Governor of Arkansas wife serving on the board of Walmart with 14 other men, most of which agreed with Sam Walton that unions were bad for the business, was going to flip the board and the Chairman’s opinion has no clue as to how true business runs.

Sam Walton ran his business as he chose to do so. If there was any influence as to how he ran his business it came to him from directly across the dinner table and from his wife Helen. Not since his death has the business chosen to even begin to acclimate itself to acceptable business ethics and even then they still miss the mark by a couple thousand yards.

Blaming Hillary Clinton for Sam Walton’s corporation’s (Walmart) long standing opinion against unions is simply ridiculous.
