McCain Liars Cry Wolf!

The only thing worse than being caught in a lie is being caught in a multitude of lies. And now the McCain campaign is complaining that all of the press is “In the Tank” against them. How dare the legitimate press that can in fact be “Sued for Defamation” check the facts coming out of not just John McCain's mouth but Sarah Palin's? How dare Fox News and Karl Rove turn against John McCain?

To top it off they call a press conference to confront the lies and then end up telling the same lies if not more? Did Pinocchio’s evil twin brother sign up to run the John McCain campaign for President? Hold off buying that extra couple of cord’s of wood to heat the house this winter, it appears the McCain camp has plenty to spare! It's pretty damn clear to me that nobody knows how to check facts in the McCain campaign now. Just make stuff up and throw it out there to grab a days worth of press coverage. Worry about the details later. Only the mud and crap hitting the fan really counts?

I first spotted this story over at the Gun Toting Liberal, then I ran into it again on Memeorandum. I’ve called the McCain for President campaign liars so many times based on facts that can be checked everywhere that it is almost like breathing. Apparently, nobody at McCain and company ever heard of Google or FactCheck.org! Politico has this to say on the latest outrage from the McCain campaign for declaring bloggers and MSM in the tank for Obama because facts don't own up to the McCain version of the truth…

McCain camp criticism rife with errors

Sen. John McCain’s top campaign aides convened a conference call today to complain of being called “liars.” They pressed the media to scrutinize specific elements of Sen. Barack Obama’s record.

But the call was so rife with simple, often inexplicable misstatements of fact that it may have had the opposite effect: to deepen the perception, dangerous to McCain, that he and his aides have little regard for factual accuracy.

The errors in McCain strategist Steve Schmidt’s charges against Obama and Sen. Joe Biden were particularly notable because they seemed unnecessary. Schmidt repeatedly gilded the lily: He exaggerated the Biden family's already problematic ties to the credit card industry; Obama’s embarrassing relationship with a 1960s radical; and an Obama supporter’s over-the-top attack on Sarah Palin when — in each case — the truth would have been damaging enough.

Asked about the series of errors, McCain aides could not provide evidence to back up Schmidt’s assertions.

One McCain aide, Michael Goldfarb, said Politico was “quibbling with ridiculously small details when the basic things are completely right.”

Another, Brian Rogers, responded more directly:

“You are in the tank,” he e-mailed. - Politico

Count me as in the tank! I hate a liar, I don’t tolerate it from my kids so why would I tolerate it from someone wanting my vote to be President? Common sense is not to be found at the McCain headquarters and for that matter with the candidate.

It has become more and more apparent that John McCain thinks that American’s are just stupid and will believe whatever he tells them. Unlike John McCain, most American’s live in the real world and can easily see how very different they are from him and the words that just spew out of his mouth. His reputation as the Maverick has melted down to the point of a used Ford Pinto salesman. It won’t blow up in your face if you don’t drive the car!

Speaking of cars, did you know John McCain and the wife own 13 cars? Barack and his wife only own one. Hmmm, who lives more like you do? Then we have one more lie to add to the McCain tote board of lies from Newsweek…

When you have seven homes, that's a lot of garages to fill. After the fuss over the number of residences owned by the two presidential nominees, NEWSWEEK looked into the candidates' cars. And based on public vehicle-registration records, here's the score. John and Cindy McCain: 13. Barack and Michelle Obama: one.

One vehicle in the McCain fleet has caused a small flap. United Auto Workers president Ron Gettelfinger, an Obama backer, accused McCain this month of "flip-flopping" on who bought daughter Meghan's foreign-made Toyota Prius. McCain said last year that he bought it, but then told a Detroit TV station on Sept. 7 that Meghan "bought it, I believe, herself." (The McCain campaign did not respond to multiple requests for comment.) - Newsweek

John McCain is proving that he is only a Maverick against the truth. He should be ashamed of himself for loosing all the credibility he once had. He isn’t a Republican anymore, he is just an out right liar. We don’t need that in the White House.

Bush and Responsibility to Graduates???

When it comes to facing the responsibility for your actions in this world George W. Bush is not someone to speak freely on the subject. Especially, when discussing that personal trait to graduates of a proud higher education facility. In his last commencement address he fluffed his lame duck Presidency to dictate responsibility to the graduating class but not since the days of the Teflon Presidency of Reagan has there ever been an occupant of the White House that has never accepted blame for any situation that has gone wrong during their administration.

His war on Terror, blame Colin Powell for selling it too well and accept his resignation as Secretary of State. Outing a CIA agent, blame Scooter Libby and let him face the prosecutors. Problems at the Justice Department, accept a resignation. The list of “No touch the President or Vice President” list goes on and on. Getting to my point is that President Bush is a shame to the office of President and his last days should be highly reveling on how far he will push the shame bar. Common practice in outgoing Presidential politics is to flood the courts with Presidential pardons. Bush and company should raise that bar to a new level of unbelief!

In a lighthearted speech peppered with personal details, Bush also urged graduates to embrace "a culture of responsibility" and referred to his drinking problems as a younger man. The topic has become something of a touchstone for Bush during his last year in office.

"There was a time in my life when alcohol competed for my affections, but I found salvation in my family and in my faith," Bush told the crowd at Furman's outdoor stadium, including more than 600 graduating seniors.

"There is no shame in recognizing your failings or getting help if you need it," he added. "The tragedy comes when we fail to take responsibility for our weaknesses and surrender to them."

Although he received a warm welcome, Bush's visit was preceded by controversy as more than 200 faculty and students signed a letter objecting to his policies on the Iraq war, detentions and other issues. A conservative group responded with its own, larger list of signatories, and said the protesters were being disrespectful of the presidency and of graduating seniors. - Washington Post

Twenty or thirty years from now the graduates of Furman University in South Carolina will finally see if George Bush was a total hypocrite or a Godsend to America in this point in time of our nations history. My personal thoughts are that they will be shocked to see all of the personal liberties and rights that this President stripped from his people for the sake of progressing a war that had no basis to begin with. Destroying the foundation that was American law by personal interpretations for each bill he signed into law to isolate the office of President from each new law enacted. Bush’s legal office called them signing statements, most people call them law busters and against the Constitution. Thus making each law he passed not able to pass the Supreme Court litmus test.

Scott McClellan and his book will only be the finger in the damn revelation of all the damage this President has done to the Constitution. The flood gates on the rest of the devastation will come slowly as the dam begins to weaken with the exodus of Presidential appointments by Bush. One of the untold secrets of being in public service is that there are no secrets if a book deal will garner huge personal gains for confirmation of dirty deeds done dirt cheap by the biggest of bosses.

McClellan’s book is only the tip of the iceberg and the Bush ship is about to go down in history as the Titanic of the White House that went full steam ahead to the bottom of the pile of Presidential historical facts. Warren Harding, move up one space to make room for W!

McCain Cries, Rockefeller and Obama Cave

Hold the freakin’ presses! John McCain takes offense to the truth? The latest hubbub is that Senator McCain was offended by remarks from another Senator simply because he spoke the truth. If that isn’t a Bushism then I do not know what is? McCain demanded an apology from the Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama simply because the Senator in question endorsed him?

How dare his fellow politicians say that McCain couldn’t spot a regular guy if they were cleaning the windshield of his car in DC. That would probably be a homeless PTSD Veteran but that is another topic for another day. Over at the New York Times they have this latest political blow out on McCain…

West Virginia Senator Apologizes for Comments on McCain

Senator John D. Rockefeller IV personally apologized to Senator John McCain of Arizona on Tuesday after remarking in an interview that Mr. McCain’s years as a Navy fighter pilot would not have given him an understanding of everyday issues faced by Americans.

In an interview in his home state, West Virginia, on Monday, Mr. Rockefeller, a Democrat, told The Charleston Gazette that Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, could not relate to the everyday concerns of people on issues like health care.

According to the article, Mr. Rockefeller said: “McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”

On Tuesday, the McCain campaign demanded an apology, not just from Senator Rockefeller, but also from Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, because he has received the West Virginian’s endorsement. - New York Times

Why don’t we all apologize for the plague in the fifteenth century and of course for that dreaded Cain and Able incident. Better yet lets be mega politically correct and apologize for the inquisition, Attilla the Hun, Alexander the Great, and just to be on the safe side, that dreaded New Coke mistake a few years back.

Senator Rockefeller and Presidential candidate Obama should not be apologizing for the truth. Was John McCain not a pilot that dropped bombs from thousands of feet up? Did John McCain ever see the effects on a personal level when those bombs dropped? Is it not a fact that John McCain wants the markets to find the “Floor” on the housing crisis thus proving he does not understand the middle and lower classes? Is it a fact that he has said himself that he is not well learned on the economy? Something that effects the common man every single day. It’s all true so why are they apologizing?

I’ll give McCain credit for his service to our nation in our armed services but that does not give him a free pass on the truth. While many of our citizens have served, just as many have not. Does military service make him immune from political questions? It’s freakin’ politics! Rockefeller and Obama blinked and it was an idiotic blink. It showed a wimp mentality in each of them simply because McCain played his military history card.

Where the hell was McCain when all the mistreatment of our military troops was going on at Walter Reed? I’ll tell you where he was, he was at Walter Reed again and again and again. He did nothing till the whistle blowers screamed loud and clear in the press. John McCain did nothing because it didn’t serve his cause till he needed to play it. Those troops in squalor didn’t matter till it was advantageous to McCain and then he spoke loud and clear on the air with Imus in the Morning.

It’s ironic that McCain is playing his military service card and demanding apologies. What about an apology from McCain for our troops still fighting to survive in our own nations military hospitals. What about an apology from McCain as a US Senator that allowed Veterans Administration funding be cut on his watch for all our aging veterans? What about an apology for WWII Veterans as they are told there is no place in the hospital for them? What about an apology from McCain for the current status of care for wounded veterans that only lasts for a few years and then they are screwed? Wasn’t he in the Senate when all of this bashing veterans benefits legislation was passed?

John McCain is a hypocrite hiding behind his military record. Being a soldier does not make you a God! Forgetting those that served and ignoring their needs while caving into the Bush administration makes McCain just as bad as the Concierge of the Hanoi Hilton.

My humble apologies to all Veterans but the truth is what it is.

Political Honesty

Politicians are great at telling you what you want to hear all the time. Sometimes when you actually get the chance to meet a real elected politician you can feel the sense of being in the presence of greatness and you should. Then again you have to remember that they use the same damn bathrooms you do and some of them do not wash their hands as often as they should.

We all know that the President has the Congress by the old short gray hairs and his trump card is the military. As much as this President wants to continue his private war in Iraq is just as much the same levity as the Congress wanting to end the war in Iraq. From two perspectives there has to be one and our nations military can not and should not be a pawn in this chess game of millionaires. Moving a Rook to take a Bishop is one thing but having to move the entire chess board to take down the King is another task.

From my perspective the new Congress has no clue how to play the game of chess that is politics and the President is very confident in his game. Just look at all the pieces that he has sacrificed to win his will? There is no piece on the board including the Queen that is not disposable. Pelosi and Reid are playing a weak strategy and the President is taking them out for a walk around the board. Check Mate is not truly in their game plan. Time is what they are counting on and that is a very weak strategy and the President knows it.

While he watches all the players fall around him he will survive because they are not strong enough to win the game that is Washington politics. Just as in chess games by the masters in the middle of play you are not thinking about your next move but ten moves later and that is where the President has the Congress. He is set in his strategy and they are fumbling on what the next move is.

Knight has the King at check mate is not in this Congress ability and President Bush knows it. All of his Pawns that are the Military are the Democrats weakest link and the President has no problem putting them in harms way to protect his spot on the board. It is political suicide to go against our sons and daughters in battle and Bush knows it and lives it.

Pieces on the chess board sacrificed by President Bush are numerous but the will of the voting people of America is stronger than the Presidency. That is one move he never planned on.

Pawn takes King.
