Saudi Arabia and Oil’s Future

Saudi Arabia does not fear the current drop in oil prices, matter of fact it tells them that the business needs to be reevaluated with intense scrutiny. 60 Minutes with Lesley Stahl did a great piece on what the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is doing to hedge their bets for the future of oil. According to the report, Saudi Arabia would like the price per barrel to be at $55 in order to support all of its production costs and government obligations.

They are bringing online two oil fields that will be able to supply close to three million barrels a day alone in 2009 with new technology that can find every last drop of oil in a field that would supply oil for the next fifty years. According to the piece, that is more oil per day than most Middle East countries can supply per day today. Lesley was able to get the gentleman in charge of the oil fields to admit that the cost to produce one barrel of oil all across the kingdom is less than $2 per barrel and yet the two fields they are opening up in 2009 they paid cash for at the richly sum of $60 Billion dollars.

Trust me, I am having no pity for the Saudi Oil Kingdom that sat back at the pool while the cost of a barrel of oil hit $147 per barrel. $147 dollars per barrel minus $2 production cost, then subtract say another $10 bucks per barrel for overhead and paying the kingdom heirs off for sucking the go go juice out leaves $135 per barrel pure profit! Multiply that profit by the number of barrels of oil they supply a day to the world and you have a disgusting amount of expendable cash. Or dare I say a savings account to pay for any new technology that serves their purpose and nations future.

I don’t begrudge them the mega gross profit they have received; I frankly admire them for repeating the P.T. Barnum business plan. If there was an American business that could earn that type of profit margin on any product and legally, I say legally for a reason, then all the power to them. What really scares me is the fact that Saudi Arabia is not being stupid with its profits and just spending away like drunken sailors on their first shore leave in six months. No offense to sailors, it was just an expression. Saudi Arabia is looking at wind power and solar power for its future offset when oil declines in use across the world. Saudi Arabia is looking at engineering the greenest fossil fuel engine the world has ever seen. Saudi Arabia is doing now what America should have done immediately after the oil embargo of the 1970’s and I have to applaud them for seeing the future need where most American industries do not.

Oil and gas prices are going to tank for the next few years and that cheap oil will pave the way for the decline in American and world research on expanding solar power technology, wind power technology, and every other alternative source to oil but the Saudi government is still going to toss hundreds of billions of dollars at these technologies every single year. From the spoils of this past energy crisis will go the investment and ability to continue the research that in a couple of decades will pay off enormously for the kingdom. Saudi Arabia in thirty years will be the largest exporter of green energy in the world simply because they invested in the technology today. That is the business plan that they are following and it is a damn good one! Maybe we in America should look at their plan and try to beat them to the moon so to speak.

When the cost of a gallon of gas is just $1.00 then where is the market for an alternative fuel that cost $3 for the same vehicle? When oil fed electric plants can produce a megawatt of power at two thirds the cost of a wind turbine then where is the market for wind power? Same goes for solar power and the list goes on for all the alternative energy initiatives when it comes right down to the cost of energy for the average consumer. It is a little disheartening but it is reality. Or am I wrong?

Gasoline Price Tanks With Bush

Kick me in the butt but I saw a gas price in Missouri today at $1.35! Now tell me why it was over $4.00 per gallon just a few short months ago? It wasn’t a supply problem. It wasn’t a demand problem. Could the high price of gasoline just been political greed and pandering to close friends in the oil industry by George Bush? You bet it was!

Bush and company gave the green light to the oil markets to feel free to rape and pillage the masses. In doing so he gave the oil industries billions in gross profits per quarter and you can bet the farm who will be paying for the George W. Bush Presidential Library, his retirement, his book deals, and his monosyllabic world speaking tours.

You read it here first, George Bush is going to make Bill Clinton look like a cheap date when he pulls down more than a million dollars per speaking engagement. Don’t try and buy tickets for any of the speeches, oil executive board rooms only hold so many people and they need room to stretch. I’m thinking that his boardroom world tour will be sponsored by Exxon Mobil and of course security for the events will be sponsored by Haliburton.

Anywho, it’s nice to throw twenty bucks in the cars gas tank and it nearly fills it from empty. What the hell am I going to do with the other $40 dollars or more per week? Then I’m stuck with all this other cash because it won’t cost me $3,000 dollars to heat my home this winter too. What about all the money we are going to save at the grocery store now? Damn it this list is going to go on forever and ever! Maybe I’ll just toss all of the over inflated prices and cost reductions in the old savings account and call that my Bush Legacy retirement plan.

I won’t be crying for any of the oil companies when the price of gasoline breaks through the $1.00 per gallon mark. Not one damn tear.

Gas Shortage Still a Problem in the South

I’m sure that if you live in the North East, the Mid West, or even the West Coast that you don’t have to spend time searching or waiting in line for gasoline. If you live in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina you have too! Is Fox News covering this from their base in Atlanta, Georgia? Umm, no.

There is no reason for the gas shortage in the south! None! Is there no doubt that President Bush and the Republican Congress members from the states afflicted are not screaming at Joe CEO as to why these people are being strangled? If this was to happen in New England, every single Congressional member and State Senator would be in the face of the companies responsible for this shortage. Subpoenas would fly from Democrat Congress members and Democrat Senate members over this? This wreaks of one last push to hold the South hostage to Red State politics from the people that have profited the most from $4.00 a gallon gas. I paid $3.19 a gallon today to tank up today in central Mass, people in North Carolina are paying $3.90 at the time this post was written. Pricing that matched the $140 per barrel market index?

How is it that up here in New England we can tank up without any problem but people in the South have to search for gas? Oil prices closed at $90.06 per barrel today. Somebody is being punished here. I'll leave it up to you people living in the South East of America to wonder why, who, and how come! Then ask yourselves why the representatives in the Congress that you have elected are not sceaming mad at this issue? Then vote accordingly!

Al Franken Gas Price Plan

Although gas prices have backed away from the $4.00 per gallon bench mark gasoline still has a long way to go to be affordable again for most American’s. As of today’s date, the cost for a barrel of oil is at $115.10 according to FT.Com. That is still double what most American’s can comfortably afford and with the coming winter, with far too many homes heated by oil, it will be a budget buster for everyone in the middle and lower classes of America.

While the Republican’s in Congress are invading an empty House of Representatives on summer vacation and screaming about an energy plan now for America they are refusing to face the fact that the price of oil is market driven and not supply driven. Saudi Arabia is not having a problem meeting supply, Hugo Chavez is not having a problem meeting oil supply demand? The same thing goes for every oil producing nation in the world. The only people that are having a problem with the price of oil and the supply of it is the many people and big oil businesses that benefit with record prices for oil and profit reports never seen before in the oil markets. Canceling loop holes for greedy investors on Wall Street is what needs to be done and Al Franken who is running for the Senate in Minnesota is 100% correct in thinking that tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) is the beginning of the path needed to take to see gas prices drop dramatically!

With Minnesotans squeezed at every turn by high fuel prices, DFL U.S. Senate candidate Al Franken pumped his own energy proposals on Monday while taking another swipe at rival U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman.

Franken said the United States should sell 50 million barrels of crude oil from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve between now and Election Day -- a move that he said would lower gas prices, generate revenue and deflate the speculator bubble that has helped send oil prices skyward.

Coleman, he said, refused last week to back legislation that would have lowered speculation and instead supports offshore oil drilling that Franken said would take 20 years to affect gas prices.

"People are hurting now," Franken said Monday at a news conference outside a St. Paul gas station, accusing Coleman of setting a Minnesota senatorial record for the most donations from oil companies.

Coleman spokesman Mark Drake said that the reserves are for emergencies and that little would be gained from such a sell-off. The United States consumes oil at the rate of 20 million barrels daily. Tapping the reserves, Drake said, would make an "incremental difference" in gas prices.

Drake said that Coleman supports increases in offshore oil drilling and nuclear, wind and "clean coal" power, and voted against last week's speculator proposal because it lacked an offshore provision.

Franken said that he supports renewable energy but that oil prices have risen to a crisis level, warranting a release from the reserve. Previous sell-offs under Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton lowered prices by as much as a third, he said. - Star Tribune

I’m all for Al Franken’s plan and if the prices don’t drop to $2.50 a gallon or lower we should release another 50 million barrels! The cost of oil is killing the American Plastic industry and in doing so killing millions of hard earned jobs that can be outsourced to China where the cost of oil is offset by a government that regulates pricing to make its industry almost impossible to compete with.

Investing in America’s future means investing in alternative energy sources Al Franken has that thought and more built into his plan which also includes funds to insulate northern states homes to help them save on the high cost of heating in the coming winter.

If you think Norm Coleman is going to save Minnesota from the oil busting business on Wall Street then you need to look at his voting record and his current campaign financing. Norm Coleman has been a Bush clone long before McCain even thought it was “Hip”. When push comes to shove, Coleman has pushed the interest of American’s to the curb and his reward for doing so was noticed by his latest campaign contributors.

If you want to save money on next winters heating bill or the bottomless pit of your checking account and the gas tank of your car then vote for Al Franken and someone that will actually do something to CHANGE our nations energy policies! Even if you don’t live in Minnesota, send the guy five dollars to help him kick Coleman’s butt come November.

Enough is enough of this family values crap! All of the crew following George Bush make Tony Soprano look like a freaking saint! Smile in your face as they screw you over just one more time. Enough is enough protecting millionaires and the idiotic thought that trickle down economics actually works.

Somebody call Myth Buster’s and have them do a show on it and maybe then people will actually see the screwing over they are getting!

It’s five at night and the office is closing, lights are being shut off, janitors are emptying waste baskets, cleaning toilets, vacuuming the House of Congress for the summer vacation. Umm, there is one little problem, Republicans are not going home? They are calling to arms on energy issues when the business of the Congress is done for the summer? Something smells like a dead fish stuck in a cooler long forgotten in the back of the car.

House Republicans go back on the floor Monday to talk gas prices

Continuing with their guerilla tactics from last week, House Republicans will be back on the floor Monday to talk gas prices, even though Congress is in recess, and they may stay there all week.

More than a dozen Republicans have already committed to make appearances, according to House GOP leadership aide, including National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Tom Cole (Okla.).

Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) and Mike Pence (R-Ind.), who lead Friday's five-hour talkathon after the House shut down for the August recess, are also expected to be there, according to this aide.

"In an urgent memo sent to GOP Members and staff Saturday (“A Call to Action on American Energy”), Republican Leader John Boehner (R-) and Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) hailed Friday’s action, and encouraged House Republicans to return to the Capitol beginning Monday morning to help keep the historic effort going," said a press release just released by Minority Leader Boehner's office.

“It’s not a request we make lightly. But the American people are suffering,” Boehner and Blunt said in the memo. “The consequences of continued congressional inaction on gas prices are unacceptable. We’ve called on the Speaker to call Congress back into an emergency session this month and schedule a vote on the American Energy Act. We must continue to make a stand until the Speaker complies.” - Politico

This is a sham by Republican leaders in the Congress to baffle the media. Now they care about gas prices when it means absolutely nothing! More smoke and mirrors and shiny objects over hear while they screw you over somewhere else. Every single energy bill cutting back on green house gasses they voted against every single time in the last eight years. Meanwhile John McCain has switched his positions when it comes to energy issues from his Maverick mentality to I am George W. Bush again.

While the rest of the Congress is home with flip flops on, no pun intended, the Republican’s are playing politics in a house of government with not one clue as to what is really happening on main street in America. Holy crap, Republican’s finally see that the price of gas is at $4.00 per gallon and it just might hurt the economy.

Republican’s are about $2.00 dollars a gallon short of the message. Change is coming and American’s tend to vote their wallet. Thank you W for being such a kind steward for the mega gross profits for the industry your family and personal pocketbook served.

Energy Breakthroughs

Many people will look at this post and the attached video and call it voodoo science or just pure bunk. I’m beginning to think the time for the new Henry Ford’s, Thomas Edison‘s, and Albert Einstein’s has arrived and it is just in time. Thinking outside of conventional wisdom and even academic pretense is what it takes to be a true inventor and I’m finding that my research into new energy breakthroughs is simply amazing.

If the average homeowner wanted to take their home off of the electric grid the price can be a bit intimidating. Then there is the problem of location if the peak wind or sun just does not jive with the area you live in.

With the cost for a barrel of oil hovering at $140 per barrel today then I’m sure that backyard and garage inventors that are pissed off are very busy. Nothing spurs invention more than someone telling you that you will pay what they tell you the price is, you have no choice in the matter! New energy breakthroughs are coming fast and furious and many of them will in fact bust the oil market down to a whimpering whipped dog. No bull, no bear, just a whining, cowering oil market speculator dog.

Amazing… Freaking me out because this machine they invented could take every single home in America or the world off of the energy dependence grid with further research. What the reality of it will end up being is that it will be bought up by some oil rich nation or company and mandated to the scrap bin forever for a very fat check!

Supply and demand my foot! I’ll let President Bush put his own foot where the solar panels aren’t working.

My thoughts are that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet should be placing a call to these guys and offer the cash investment to get the scales of justice in the oil markets balanced once more. While Obama and McCain are whacking one another upside the head on who has a better energy plan to reign in the out of control oil markets there is a machine sitting in Australia that actually is the answer to all of the worlds energy independence.

$12 Per Gallon Gas is Cool With Republicans

Not that you need to hear this but every single energy bill in recent years where Big Brother Oil was involved has taken a nose dive in the ring of our nations government. Things that make you go Hmmm?

Current legislation would have imposed heavy taxes on Big Brother Oil if they did not invest the mega profits into alternative energy sources. Oh, and it would have stripped out $17 Billion in tax credits for Big Brother Oil Incorporated in Washington D.C. Republicans in the Senate killed it. There was a small service, no flowers, no formal funeral. Just a bunch of folks from the Senate going “Oh Gee Willickers?”

Over at the New York Times they have this on the Republican Party in the US Senate telling the American People that $17 Billion in US Treasury funds are better spent by Big Brother Oil than you pesky gas guzzling near do wells…

2 Energy Bills, Including Windfall Tax, Stall in Senate

WASHINGTON — A Democratic proposal to impose heavier taxes on big oil companies stalled in the Senate on Tuesday as Republicans and Democrats offered different ideas on how to deal with soaring energy costs.

A bill that would have rolled back some $17 billion in tax breaks on Big Oil and pressured the companies to invest in new energy sources by hitting them with a windfall-profits tax if they did not failed to get enough votes to move forward. Fifty-one senators voted to bring the measure up for consideration, but that was nine short of the number needed under Senate rules. Forty-three senators, most of them Republicans, voted “no.” - New York Times

And people wonder why the Republican Party is looked at as the party of big business and screw the rest of ya?

Is it just me or do all Republicans feel that Exxon/Mobil needs a huge chunk of that $17 Billion in tax credits? Hell Exxon could almost pay for the whole program in one quarters profits! That is clear profit!

Oil profiteering is reaching the point of genocide of our nations commerce. In doing so they are killing the beast that feeds them and that in turn will lead to the days of Teddy Roosevelt where every Big Oil Brother will be and should be broken up into a family of thirty and forty Little Oil’s. History must repeat itself for the greater good of the nation and for that matter the world.

In some respects I understand Hugo Chavez for privatizing his nations oil markets. When one organization thinks it owns the nations government, has that nations commerce by the throat, then government must step in with a heavy hand. Just my opinion. No Commie innuendo’s applicable. It works for New Hampshire with the control of liquor?

Do we need more Republicans in office to protect and defend the rapist’s of our economy. Is rape good and defending the victims in this oil market gone mad bad?

At one point in the price per gallon of gasoline the Oil Market will kill all of our world economy and the ones profiting the most from it will walk away clean as a new born babe. That isn’t just an assumption it is a cold hard fact. Every single product you use as a human being is in some way or form connected to the price of oil. Millionaire Republican’s killed this bill simply because they do not face the reality of someone living in the lower classes. Paying double for heat, double for gas, double for food, double for everything you need to survive is not a priority when you have a million dollars. It’s irrelevant in their minds. Tell that to someone surviving on Social Security! Then it becomes extremely RELEVENT!

The only question to ponder is at what point does the world economy collapse based on the price of oil per barrel? Make no doubt about it, that point is coming very soon. You can almost mark it on your calendar as oil spikes nine and ten dollars a day based on nothing than speculation.

There is something not right with the pricing of oil and I’m just guessing that the multiple billions of profits from all of the oil companies per quarter across the world just might have something to do with it. Excessive oil prices is wiping out the bottom layer of our nations economy. Without the bottom income earners the middle will collapse, without the middle the top will cave. Domino effect and that we can thank the Republican party for. Just for giggles, President Bush was going to Veto this bill if it passed.

In that respect, the meek shall inherit the Earth. It all comes down to oil and economics. One can not live without the other and in that respect any economy can not be hijacked by the price of oil without serious government intervention.

Gas Profits Not High Enough for Exxon

You see it in the papers and news reports all the time that the price of gas at the pump is market driven but that is not the complete truth. All of the good old boys on Wall Street and in the boardrooms of big oil companies would prefer to have you believe that that factoid is the truth. If you believe that the price of gas and oil is market driven then you need to check into your local UFO outpatient clinic. Health insurance is not required.

Traveling the streets of your city and town and you see the prices at the pump proudly posted in big numbers at the curb where neighboring stations are almost always a penny difference per gallon in pricing. That would be simple competition at its basic form. Now travel five miles down the street where you just might see the same name brand gas station but the prices are higher or lower? Did the super tanker trailer truck from the same corporation come from a different distribution facility? Chances are that the same tanker truck delivered the exact same gasoline to both of the gas stations on the same day. Zipping over to the Washington Post you can see what Exxon thinks and how they treat their franchisees.

Exxon, which owns the station land, last week handed Rezazadeh a new lease raising her rent about 30 percent over the next three years. She stuck a copy on the window of her station to show customers who are angry about soaring pump prices. Rezazadeh has told Exxon that she cannot make money with the rent that high. Her territory manager's reply, she said, was simple: When you go, leave us the keys. - Washington Post

One of the things I found interesting in this article is the manipulative factor that Exxon has built into its franchise agreement. Every facet of the business is dictated by the Big Oil company down to the exact location as to where you the consumer will grab your favorite candy bar from. That’s no different than being the owner of a Big Burger franchise. But the Big Burger franchise do not have different prices from neighborhood to neighborhood for the same burger and fries do they?

Then there is the mega corporation making ten billion in profits per quarter that manipulates it franchise owners to such a point that supposedly only an eight penny margin is allowed by the Exxon station owner. The only ones making a sizable and excess profit on gasoline at the pump is Exxon. That still isn’t enough cash flowing into Exxon so the stations where they own the land Exxon is allegedly pushing the rental or lease fees up thirty percent simply because they can. That would be similar to those old comedy skits starring Lilly Tomlin as a phone operator where she snorts at the customers complaint and simply states “We are the phone company sir, we can do whatever we want!”

One of the only assumptions you can get out of reading the article is that Exxon sees a bigger piece of the greed pie down at the local franchise level and is slowly pricing them out of business. When one station owner is told by the Exxon district manager to leave the keys for them when they are forced out of business then the writing and business plan is on the wall. Ten billion in profit is not enough for Exxon and they want more!

Pay attention Congress! It’s starting to look like the Exxon Mobil merger was a huge mistake and the all powerful corporation born of that merger has started to eat its young to get even fatter. Time to break out Teddy Roosevelt’s big stick and break up the mother ship.

People vs. OPEC

I’m sure that all across corporate America in the executive offices of the CEO’s of all the big oil companies could be heard one phrase today.

“Ut Ohhhhh!”

Congress today passed legislation allowing the creation of banks of lawyers to sue the pants off of OPEC members and investigate price gouging by any company. Of course the Commander in Chief is against this kind of legislation. Who’d of thought that? Over at the New York Times they have this on the subject…

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved legislation on Tuesday allowing the Justice Department to sue OPEC members for limiting oil supplies and working together to set crude prices, but the White House threatened to veto the measure.

The bill would subject OPEC oil producers, including Saudi Arabia, Iran and Venezuela, to the same antitrust laws that U.S. companies must follow.

The measure passed in a 324-84 vote, a big enough margin to override a presidential veto.
The legislation also creates a Justice Department task force to aggressively investigate gasoline price gouging and energy market manipulation.

"This bill guarantees that oil prices will reflect supply and demand economic rules -- instead of wildly speculative and perhaps illegal activities," said Democratic Rep. Steve Kagen of Wisconsin, who sponsored the legislation. - New York Times

When it comes to the scales of justice here in the States it is basically a foregone conclusion that big oil interest have heavily tipped the scales against consumers. It looks to me like we finally will get a break and the powers that be on the exchange markets that set the market price for oil should start investing in shredders.

I’d be willing to pick up a few document threshers if they would be willing to drop the price of oil down to around fifty or sixty bucks a barrel. If they loan me a hundred bucks to fill my tank then I’ll even deliver the shredders.

President Bush today let the American people know that he is right on top of things with the rising gas prices. Then again, no, he really didn’t. But he did acknowledge that it’s a problem for the working class of America. Then again, no, he really didn’t. I’m pretty sure he is really feeling the pain that we are all suffering but I’m also pretty sure that President Bush had his fingers crossed through the whole interview.

Over at MSNBC they had this to say on our distinguished “Deciderer” on the gouging at the pumps…

WASHINGTON - President Bush said Monday that he's troubled by rising gas prices and will take a look at proposals to relieve the crisis but warned that there is no quick fix.

"It's been a while in the making and it's going to be a while that we solve the problem," Bush said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America." "We're too dependent on foreign oil and we need to be exploring more at home."

Bush said the rising cost of gas "troubles me a lot" because it is "like a tax on the working people."

He said he understands the pinch for working families and that some people will cut back on summertime travel. The federal tax rebate on the way to taxpayers will help, he said.

"One way to help solve it, of course, is by sending some of the money back. That's what's happening now as we speak. There's a rebate going back to the American people, which should help," Bush said. He reiterated his call for Congress to make permanent the tax cuts enacted during his administration. - MSNBC

This was classic Bush and his shiny object over here while I’m doing something else over here. Does the man think that the entire nation suffers from some form of attention deficit disorder?

Basically, his whole speech or interview could be translated into the following. Blah, blah, blah, gas prices, blah, blah, rebate checks, blah, blah, blah, but leave my tax cuts for the top two percent of income earners alone!

Maybe somebody should explain to the Nit Wit in Chief that the gas crisis is market driven and not a supply problem. Then while they are explaining that they could tell the deciderer that some of that market problem is directly linked to some little scuffle in the Middle East called the Iraq War that he started to settle a personal grudge! 4,000 plus U.S. Military dead but at least the crayon pusher at the White House got the guy that threatened to kill his daddy.

George Bush could care less if you can not afford to fill up your Chevy or Ford to get back and forth to work and why should he? He could care less if your family is about to have the lights shut off because the money is so tight these days that food just might be more important than paying the electric bill. All you people that are on fixed incomes are totally screwed if this sad excuse for an American President has any say in a pay raise of one or two percent in your Social Security check. You folks might as well sell your cars and think about canceling next winters idea about having heat in your home. In his mind your winter heating problem could be fixed by moving your sorry asses south where you don’t need heat in the winter! He is about as compassionate as a freaking rock! You might want to duck because the CEO of XYZ oil has this puppet boy President’s permission to smash all your windows and take all that they want from you.

I’ll be very clear that this President is on the take and his pockets are lined with the tears of the poorest American’s and those tears are not enough for him or his corporate buddies in the oil industry. Ten Billion in profits every three months isn’t enough for the number crunchers, they feed on greed and want more of what you no longer have. By the oil industry I’m also talking about all those fast talking salesman on Wall Street that are riding the fatted calf of oil with no care for their fellow man. Bush and company is all about full speed ahead till the Democrat’s derail the Republican business machine that takes no prisoners.

One has to give the Liar in Chief Bush credit, he has never wavered on the services he could provide to his business friends that put him in the White House. George Bush and Dick Cheney are very loyal to their friends, that is till the special prosecutors come looking. Bye Alberto, bye Scooter, bye…

Is McCain Out of Touch?

One of the things you don’t ask in a down economy is if people are better off today than they were four years ago with a silver spoon in your mouth. By all means if you are ever asked that question as a political candidate you don’t offer reasons why people are better off when that is just not true. Our economy is in a freaking nose dive and a millionaire politician has the audacity to tell you that things are just fine?

When it comes to reality and what the real American people are going through some folks just don’t have a clue. I found this little eye opener over at the Washington Post…



I’m just going to assume that Senator McCain does not pump his own gas or go grocery shopping for himself. Maybe he leaves all of those little details up to the little woman at home and the staff at her disposal.

And this guy thinks he is in touch with Americans? I think not.

Inflation Revolution

Speaking with a very close friend today I was reminded how cruel and absurd the cost of living in America is today. It’s getting to the point of no return and the government just does not see it. Whether you agree or not we have become a nation constantly screwing over the middle and lower class for the betterment of the upper classes. Dropping your change from the store in the Salvation Army Kettle no longer works to help the lower classes.

Most Americans drive hundreds of miles commuting back and forth from work each week and that cost is not offset by pay increases. The pass on of cost increases all across the board of every good we need or buy is reflected in the economics of oil and our dependence on it. No other product in this world has been so effective in its ability to destroy even the best of economic engines than the simple product pumped out of the ground at a cost of $2 per barrel. How it gets to $115 per barrel is an argument we could go over and over again on what the profiteers of the industry are doing with all of the ill gotten gains?

No matter how you look at it, Oil is the cause of our nations out of control inflation. Throw out the numbers from any main stream media outlet and government source. Look at your grocery cart and see three bags of groceries that cost three times what they did just a few years ago.

Inflation is a funny topic when you think about it. It’s supply and demand but it is also greed. When it comes to the world oil markets it never looks pretty. When it comes to making the American economy move it is a vital statistic that proves out across the board.

It will take no more than an American uprising to end this madness where the cost of living is out of reach for all Americans. With the housing crisis, the cost of food, the cost of everything in order to simply live is beyond the point of regulatory justification. This nation is on the verge of revolution no matter how you look at it. Healthcare, housing, vehicles, tobacco, everything we do is taxed beyond acceptance and we the people had no say!

When our society regulates and justifies our protection from ourselves then we have lost the sight of freedom. We have lost what it is to be an American. That is a huge mistake.

American’s need to speak up and be angry with our government representatives. If you are reading this post then you can Google search your representative in the congress. Do you want to wait for gas to hit $5.00 per gallon before you say enough is enough or is that okay with you?

Maybe we the people need to mass on Washington D.C. and let them know we can’t take any more. We the people are the nation and we should never forget that fact. Then again, we could just bitch and moan about the insanity of the ever increasing cost of living.

At what point do the people say enough is enough? They say enough when they can’t feed their families simply because they are taxed or legislated out of existence. That is coming when the numbers of them verse us overwhelms the folks making all the rules.

Just something to think about. Write and email your Senator, Congressman and even the President. Tell them you can’t afford to live anymore. Tell them that you are fed up! Otherwise, grab your pitch fork and head for Washington D.C. and poke the bastards where they work.

American Ingenuity on Oil’s Replacement

I’ve said it before on many posts on this site. The end of the strangle hold on America’s energy needs is nearing the end of the beginning. All of those back yard inventors of a better mouse trap when it comes to our fuel needs are coming out of the woodwork and the ones serious enough to believe in it will be successful.

One of the things I find interesting is that many of these backyard chemist, biologist, and guys that know how to work a mean wrench have on thing in common, not one of them thinks they will replace the Exxon’s of this world but they sure as hell will put a dent in their billion dollar profits year by year. And as these combined technologies all grow over time then the likes of Exxon will be the mega giant corporations that dared to think it was irreplaceable. I’m watching this image on a computer screen at Amyris Biotechnologies in Emeryville, California, where one of the founders, biologist Jack Newman, is giving me a tour. The genetically manipulated E. coli before me are highly crafted units of industrial production, which Amyris is using to turn sugar into novel versions of gasoline, jet fuel and diesel—in other words, the fuels on which the world already runs. Amyris is one of a handful of young biofuel companies putting a brilliant and weird twist on the future of green. It’s betting that, with the help of bacteria, the long-term answer to our gasoline woes will actually be . . . gasoline.

Because as it stands, the main alternative to petroleum, ethanol (a type of alcohol), is fraught with problems. It can’t be pumped through current infrastructure because it tends to corrode pipelines. And according to University of Minnesota economist Jason Hill, even if all the corn grown in the U.S. were converted to ethanol, it would replace only some 12 percent of the 146 billion gallons of gasoline we use every year. Cellulosic ethanol—fuel produced from the cellulosic matter contained in plant stalks and stems rather than from seeds—would solve that problem, but the technology to produce it on a large scale is still a way off. Plus, ethanol simply isn’t as energy dense as petroleum-based fuels. - Popular Science

One of the things I find very warming to the spirit is that this research isn’t coming from the United States Government or sponsored by XYZ oil company. It’s coming from American’s with an attitude, American’s with a spirit and sense of what is right and what is wrong. It’s coming from a displaced sense of the American way of life. For the last eight years we as a people have been jerked around by circumstances beyond our control and if you know anything about Americans, we hate being told that the price of our greatest energy resource is beyond our control. That’s a tough pill to swallow and we American’s tend to hate having anything shoved down our throats. Even when it comes from within our own nation with the people we allow a free market to dictate prices.

This is an Energy Revolution and it is starting in garages, chemistry labs, brain storming sessions, and with individuals sick and tired of having the money they earned spent on fuels to run our vehicles or buying a gallon of milk for their families. That is an argument that will never be won when it comes to the hundreds of thousands of brilliant minds working today all across America to pretty much chuck the Middle East and all OPEC nations the bird.

This countries energy needs will pretty much be self reliant in twenty to thirty years. It’s not going to be easy and it isn’t something that can happen overnight or from any one technology. It will happen with one advancement at a time. Think of it as a slow strangling end to imported oil much like the horse and buggy day.

Move your Ass Detroit!

In India they unveiled the cheapest car in the world. It’s God awful ugly but goes from point A to point B at 50 MPG. Don’t even think about looking for it on the streets in North America any time soon. It won’t pass the bicycle hitting the newspaper stand test. But it is innovative in an entrepreneurial kind of way of making brand new car ownership possible to millions of people in India.

This raises the question, why the hell can’t Detroit do this for the folks in the United States? Could it be that all the outsourcing of jobs to India has created the end of Detroit’s ownership on the world transportation needs? Either way you look at it, India has a compact super little car that fit’s the needs of their people and cuts emissions that can be bought for $2500 US dollars.

With a snub nose and a sloping roof, the world's cheapest car can hold five people -- if they squeeze. And the basic version is spare: There's no radio, no air bags, no passenger-side mirror and only one windshield wiper. All is fair in love and war and American’s love cars. The current administration has proven that we will go to war over the go go juice that gets our people from point A to point B. With this little car we just might not have to go to war to protect our need for more go go juice.

Cheap cars are never pretty, remember the Yugo? That was a joke of a car but many people bought them and drove them till their Bic Lighter life ran out. Same thing goes for the Geo Metro, put me in the ownership column of Geo Metro lovers. I loved my little four door grasshopper. Filling the tank once every two weeks with a work commute of 19 miles each way fit my larger than life family.

Watch your back Detroit, India is knocking on the door and they are bringing savings to the driving consumers. It may not be pretty now but these cars will be on the streets of North America in less than ten years with some beefing up crash test passing results. The clock is ticking… tick, tock, tick, tock…

Oil Markets out of Control

Once more the nation is facing $3 gasoline and home heating oil over speculation and what some would think is market manipulation. While the market and its volatility are soaring out of control you can almost here the cash registers ringing non stop for all of the friends of President Bush. With his lack of action on behalf of the lower classes of America he is proving the point made by thousands of political writers like yours truly that he is a puppet President.

This man that claims to be a great listener is tone deaf when it comes to the people that can least afford the greatest inflationary market driven product in the world. Oil and the price of it effects practically every product made in the United States. From your vegetables getting from the fields in California to the local supermarket in New England, to anything made with plastics. Take a break, look around you computer desk or just around your living room. The wires insulated with PVC that burn the lamps that you read or watch television by are oil based. The cabinet to your television, the keyboard of your computer and most of the parts inside of it, stereo, DVD player, surround sound speakers, the sneakers on your feet, the bottled water container that you drink because it supposed to be good for you. Just for giggles make a list, when you get over one hundred items in your living room, move to the kitchen. Take a deep breath and get ready for writers cramp. All of them are oil based products in one form or another. Everything in our society is linked to oil and the higher the price goes it seems the wider the smirk on W gets.

Along comes the favored Democrat Senator from New York that is also running for W’s office. She calls out for the tapping of our nations Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to let the markets know that the situation is out of control and releasing millions of barrels onto the open market will impact prices by negating the rumor that there is a supply problem. By the way, there is no supply problem. There is a free for all market problem where investors and Wall Street are manipulating the price of oil to make yet another killing. Line up for the firing squad because you are the one facing the bullets from W’s buddies. Just empty your checking account and insert it at the nearest gas pump and you will not be harmed. You will be damned cold this winter but frost bite never killed anyone. I may be wrong on that last fact so don’t quote me. Clinton urges Bush to tap oil reserves

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Hillary Clinton called on the Bush administration to tap into the government's emergency crude oil and heating oil reserves to boost supplies and lower prices.

"I urge the President to release oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve and the Northeast Heating Oil Reserve to send a signal to the market and ease concerns about low crude oil stocks that are driving prices higher," Clinton said in a statement posted on Wednesday on her campaign Web site.

The price of U.S. crude oil hit a record $98.62 per barrel on Wednesday at the New York Mercantile Exchange and the average price consumers paid for home heating oil reached a record $3.11 per gallon this week, partly from concerns about tight petroleum supplies this winter.

Energy Department data also showed this week was the first time that the retail prices for heating oil, gasoline and diesel fuel all topped $3 per gallon at the same time.

The Bush administration has repeatedly said that the crude oil and heating oil reserves should only be used to offset major supply disruptions and not to manage energy prices. - Reuters

I’m thinking this is more of the same political crap shoot that both parties play but one side is looking out for the people that will set the thermostat this winter at 62 and hope the oil tank lasts ten or eleven days longer. The other side of the aisle is shoveling cash so fast into the bank that the blizzard of 78’ in New England looked like a flurry.

President Bush will never interfere with the oil industry because that is his background and his monetary base for being elected twice. If you asked yourself what was the greatest way to increase the price of oil seven years ago it would be total unrest in the Middle East. BINGO!

Personally, I’m not a fan of Hillary Clinton but if she is the only one asking the President to release the SPR then that is one form of leadership that those of us in the middle and lower classes are glad to hear. How much more are we to do without for Exxon Mobil, Shell and Chevron to rake in another multi billion dollar quarter of profits? If it gets her some votes for doing so, then it was a smart political move on her part. If you vote your wallet then you have to think twice this election because one party will be raping it and the other will be trying to stop the crime before it happens.

Thirty years from now when the records of what this President did to this nation on behalf of his friends in big oil will be revealed and President Warren G. Harding will no longer be known as the most corrupt President ever. Insert a W plaque at the hall of shame. Right next to him will be Marie Antoinette.

Is the Bush Conspiracy Proven at the Pump?

Given the fact that raising the minimum wage to a decent level could break the economy of America according to President Bush I think that the prices at the pump are going to pretty much bury the American people for the good graces of our President. I was talking to a good friend of mine this evening and he brought this comparison up.

When Exxon/Mobile posts a $30 Billion dollar profit for one three month span is that going to wake people up to know that our President is corrupt and sacrificing his people for his few oil Barron friends? What does it take to make the people wake up and know that the fix is in and Bush is sitting there in the Oval office chucking the bird at the American people because we know that he is an idiot? From where he sits it looks like we are all the idiots. From where his friends in the oil industry sit the sky is green with cash, yours, mine and anyone driving a car in America.

For all their complaining as they pay $3 a gallon or more to fill up their cars, few American drivers have yet to reach the point of cutting back.

And brace yourself: experts say with gas already closing in on $4 a gallon in Chicago and San Francisco ahead of the peak summer driving season, higher prices could be in the cards.

"I drive 55 miles each way to work every day," said Sandy Colden, of Medford, N.J., one recent morning while loading groceries into her Honda Pilot SUV. "So I really don’t have a choice, unfortunately." – Boston Herald

President Bush and his crew of thieves are stealing from all Americans by punishing us for simply being Americans and not agreeing to his political ideology. That ideology is summed up with your seeing things his way or taking the highway. Pick an article in any paper and the corruption and boldness of the deception in his administration is printed every single day! What better way to put the knife to your people’s throat than at the good old gas pump?

What really boggles my mind is that he isn’t just screwing Democrats and Liberals over with his lack of concern for the cost of gasoline at the pump is the simple fact that he is screwing over all Americans regardless of political affiliation.

This man is not the President of America as much as he is the protector of big oil and turning the other way as they rape Americans on a daily basis. Democrat or Republican, Bush is pissed and we will pay through the nose till he is gone. Only till he leaves office will this situation be corrected and even then the Robber Barron’s of today will walk away with pockets full of cash. Your cash, my cash, our senior’s cash, our grocery money, our kids college money, our retirement money, our new born babies’ money for formula and the list goes on and on. How much have you as a person or as a family had to cut back to afford the raping at the pump courtesy of this administration? How much more are you willing to give up and still defend this man that dares to call himself the leader of the free world?

There are emails out there suggesting a boycott of certain gas stations and I for one participated today. Moving forward in my life I will never purchase gas from the gas stations listed in them and if you want a voice in this fight then you should do so as well. I’m boycotting Exxon Mobile for the rest of my life. If they are going to screw me over at the pump anyway with a guy or gal making minimum wage manning the pumps then I am telling you that we should tell them to screw! I’ll spend my fifty dollars to fill my tank at another gas station just down the street. I’m fed up and I am sure that you are too. Be proactive in your disgust and send the message to the corporations bending you over the barrel at the gas pump.

Moving on and according to the Bush mentality and political thought process, the minimum wage hike will kill the economy? Small businesses will collapse; death and destruction to mid sized companies will lend a hand at bringing on a recession. Think again! Mr. President, you and your lack of defending the people and the supper table at home are killing the American economy. Wake the hell up will you! You sir, and your friends in big oil have taken far too much away from my families supper table and we can not afford you or them anymore. This President should be shown the exit post haste.

Let the investigations begin and if Nancy Pelosi doesn’t have the guts to do it then she too should step aside. America is crying for help and all of Washington is looking the other way. Enough is enough! I can't afford politicians that look the other way while my family suffers for their ignorance of what the people at home need.

I'm asking my readers to boycott Exxon Mobil not for just me but for yourself. Send a loud and clear message from your own wallet!
