Republican Mission to Kill US Economy

If you happen to be one of the millions of people that is out of work and can not find a job then you need to look at the big picture that is the United States Congress come this fall election.  If you happen to be one of the people that took any job even if it was half of what you were making before the economy crashed just to have a job then you especially need to look at the big picture.  The Republican Party in both houses has killed every effort by the President to get the people that need work jobs.  And they have been doing it as long as Barack Obama has been President of the United States.  Any legislation he proposes that will create jobs for the American people, the Republican lead House attaches deep tax cuts for the rich to kill it or filibuster to kill any jobs bill.  They are doing everything they can to screw the American people over while they waive the flag.  End result, no jobs.  But it is the President’s fault?  I dare say no.  Below are some links to various articles where the GOP has purposefully killed everything and anything that would create jobs.

The Republican Party and its political contributors to all campaigns has a scorched earth plan when it comes to fixing this economy and creating jobs in America.  It is not going to happen when there is a Democrat in the White House.

Senate Republicans have voted to kill the White Housejobs bill despite weeks of campaign-style barnstorming by President Barack Obama across the country.

Forty-six Republicans joined with two Democrats to filibuster the $447 billion plan.

That vote was not final. The roll call was kept open Tuesday night to allow Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, New Hampshire Democrat, to vote. But it would have taken 60 votes in the 100-member Senate to keep the legislation alive.

The plan would have included Social Security payroll tax cuts for workers and businesses and other tax relief totaling about $270 billion. There also was to be $175 billion in new spending on roads, school repairs and other infrastructure — as well as jobless aid and help to local governments to avoid layoffs of teachers, firefighters and police officers

.

Republicans opposed the measure over its spending to stimulate the economy and its tax surcharge on millionaires.

HR 1633 - Farm Dust Regulation Prevention Act of 2011
This bill prevents the EPA from issuing or finalizing regulations revising air quality standards under the Clean Air Act, and excepts farm dust from all references to "particulate matter."
No jobs there, but if anyone has ever suffered from Valley Fever, they might object to exempting dust, particularly farm dust, from the definition of particulate matter.
HR 10 - Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act of 2011
Guts the regulation process by mandating that every regulation promulgated by approved by Congress after an onerous submission process, while exempting any Congressional finding from judicial review. Call this one the Carte Blanche For Congress To Kill All Regulatory Authority Bill.
What it is not: A jobs bill.
HR 3010 - Regulatory Accountability Act of 2011
HR 3010 is a modified, somewhat less onerous version of HR 10, setting guidelines for whether any regulations are warranted at all even if called for under a statute. Calling an anti-regulatory statute a jobs bill is a little like calling a half-built bridge infrastructure. So again, not a jobs bill.
HR 527 - Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act of 2011
Ostensibly, HR 527 would reduce regulatory requirements on small businesses by forcing an impact study with specific focus on small business before regulation is adopted. It would limit EPA, OSHA and CFPB regulations while presumably protecting "small" closely-held Subchapter S corporations like Koch Industries. Not a jobs bill.
HR 3012 - Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2011
HR 3012 would expand job immigration beyond current limits by eliminating employment-based immigrant visa caps and raising the percentage of total visas granted to 15% from 7%. For this one, I'll say it IS a jobs bill, but not a jobs bill for American workers. It is the "Elite Immigration Jobs Bill of 2011".
HR 3094 - Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act
HR 3094 redefines collective bargaining units and makes significant changes to election procedures, including one intended to intimidate employees: an employer-supplied list of eligible voters with contact information provided by the employee.
Not a jobs bill. A union-buster bill.
HR 2930 - Entrepreneur Access to Capital Act
HR 2930 exempts startups raising less than $1 million in venture capital from small investors from SEC registraiton and oversight.
Not a jobs bill. An anti-regulatory bill.
HR 2940 - Access to Capital for Job Creators Act
HR 2940 repeals prohibitions on solicitation or advertising of a securities offering. It's a companion to HR 2930, and is intended to allow people with no relationship to a startup company to invest in it without any oversight by the SEC. Let's call this and its evil twins HR 2930 and HR 1965 the "Ponzi Scheme Coverup Acts of 2011"
HR 1965 - Securities Laws Amendment
HR 1965 changes the shareholder threshhold for SEC registration from 500 to 2000 shareholders. It's not a jobs bill. It's a "hide from the SEC" bill. Its companion, HR 1970, would exempt SEC registration of public offerings under $50 million rather than the current $5 million threshold.
Many More EPA Acts
So many they don't deserve to be broken down individually. HR 2273 removes coal ash regulation from the EPA and hands it to the states. HR 2681 would put a legislative stay on cement manufacturing emission standards. HR 2250 would put a legislative stay on EPA boiler MACT rules. HR 2401 would require analysis of all EPA regulations relating to air, waste, water and climate change. HR 2018 would restrict EPA from issuing any revisions to existing water standards or issuing a new standard for a pollutant if the state has already adopted one or there is an existing standard in place. In other words, ignore any new scientific research after an initial standard has been set. HR 2021 amends the Clean Air Act to open oil and gas exploration off the Alaska coast. HR 910 strips the EPA of authority to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act, a direct assault on efforts to limit man-made contributions to climate change. HR 872 expands the use of pesticides, fungicides and rodent without EPA approval.

The end results of all of the job killing activity in the United States Congress by the Republican Party, is that the Republican Party does not care about you.  They care about protecting the people that donate to them and their campaigns. 

Facts and jobs do not matter if there is money to be protected or made for influential donors when it comes to governing by the Republican Party.  Keeping you and them separated while blaming someone else for no jobs is the GOP mission of governing.

If you think your congressional representatives support you and this economy then please visit factcheck.org before you blame the other guy that is actually trying to create jobs.  Only 2% of all Republican voters know that during President Obama's administration that taxes have gone down and not up for the middle and lower classes.

This was taken today in Ohio where the Mitt Romney aka Mittens for President bus tour is out to meet and greet the masses.  Three cops, ten or more Secret Service agents, twenty five or more reporters, and one guy that was just looking for directions to get to Indiana.  Sad.  Just sad.

One thing is certain in this election.  Romney will never be President of the United States.  Even a US Congress representative draws more supporters.  Speaking of that, where are his GOP supporters from the House and Senate from Ohio?

Perry Social Security Shot in the Foot

Just to be real, Rick Perry (R) Bovine Governor of Texas has never looked kindly on the Social Security System. It is in fact the ultimate ENTITLEMENT program that he would love to kill. Screw you retirees and scum sucking liberal retiree's. If you get a check from the government then you are sucking on the tax payers tit and you just suck. Pardon the double metaphor. Even though you paid into the system all your life. You still suck. You are scum because you are not a millionaire that can and will still cash a Social Security check when they turn 65 years of age. Why? Because they paid into the system too!


I am going to be honest with the American people. Our elected leaders must have the strength to speak frankly about entitlement reform if we are to right our nation's financial course and get the USA working again.

No politician has ever won the White House since FDR created the Social Security system even thinking about changing Social Security that FDR enacted to eliminate elderly poverty. And that is what the system still does to this day. Screw Rick Perry with wanting to reform a system that takes care of our elderly! Be it now or thirty years from now.

Thank God Rick Perry is the GOP favorite son in the polls. My candidate, President Obama, will be a landslide winner. Keep talking Ricky and Michelle and Mitt. Keep bashing the pocket books of the elderly that vote. I'm loving this!

My friend over at WormTown Taxi found this interesting little site. People around the world are voting for Obama or McCain and the results are a good indicator of whom American’s should be voting for. Granted the results are online votes but it is an interesting polling result.

Why is it that in the back of my head I can picture Vladimir Putin, the Prime Minister of Spain and Hugo Chavez staying up all night to vote against McCain? “Screw me? Screw you Johnny Boy!” AKA McCain could not remember where Spain was on the map, or Venezuela, and Vladimir Putin is the new President of Germany.

If the Constitution of the United States is designed to hold our nation together then why was the Governor of Alaska and her husband looking to support everything against that cherished document? McCain Campaign Imploding

Over at the McCain campaign for President they are running amok with nobody really in charge including John McCain. Reports are coming from all directions that the one direction they are all heading is one that nobody really believes in. As Senator McCain flips and flops on issues all over the spectrum politically, his campaign can not keep the message straight. The John McCain Straight Talk Express has apparently gone off the road and is lost in the woods.

One of the sites that I contribute to has a very well written piece on the lies that McCain finds himself embracing just to hold on to the Bush dynasty of voters. The language is graphic but the point is made that John McCain has morphed into someone that was never John McCain for the sake of running for President. And worse off, if he can’t sell his side of the aisle on the politics of life then he and his political campaign have no problem making stuff up as fast as they can. If his campaign needs money then he flips his opinion on drilling for oil off the Atlantic coast and raises more money from oil executives and the oil industry in one month than he has in the past eighteen months. This post by Cranky Liberal is a must read over at Bring It On!

From now on I don’t care what McCain promises. I don’t care what he says. He’s a lying dirtbag. Shout it from the hills people and don’t be afraid. They have no problems making shit up, so we shouldn’t have a problem telling the truth. Afterall, we aren’t Republicans. - Bring It On!

Over at YouTube they have this great piece on many of the flips and flops that McCain has “Evolved” his opinion on. Many of which don’t even come close to why John the “Maverick” McCain was even in the spotlight for President just eight short years ago. (Video Link)



One of the things that caught my thought process to write this post was the way that McCain has really changed in the last eight years. He went from being a moderate Republican in the congress to an extremist mirroring all of the idiocy of Bush. The only way to explain this transformation is the fact that he would sell his own soul to be President.

One of the things I admire about Obama in all of this election campaign of he said this and then they said that is that Obama still stands for Universal Health Care, he still stands for the middle and lower classes when it comes to our political issues. Obama and his decision on Choice is still clear and not up for approval or disapproval and easily changed by special interest groups. Obama’s voice is his own and his campaign does not have to run shotgun over his comments and make numerous corrections to the press on a daily basis.

It is pretty clear in all the press reports that there are too many people trying to drive the bus over at the McCain campaign and the only one not able to actually drive the bus is the candidate for President.

Barack Obama’s Wealth is a Problem?

Why does the main stream media have a problem with an African American politician having wealth? Barack Obama and his wife have worked their asses off and in return they benefited from it monetarily. He and his wife are very highly educated people and with that knowledge behind them they both have outstanding careers and paychecks. With that paycheck they bought a home that suited their means. What is the problem with that?

Here in Massachusettes we saw the same bashing and questioning of Governor Deval Patrick’s personal wealth during his run for Governor. Governor Patrick and his wife are both highly educated people that benefited from their educations and they earned every single penny they made. Why does the main stream media look at their wealth and Obama’s as if they do not deserve it? It pisses me off!

With assets and personal investments over one million dollars he is in fact the poorest of the millionaires in the election of 2008. I for one envy his and his wife’s hard work to get where they are financially. By no means do I feel that they never earned it. Somehow the MSM tries to give you an impression that they did not earn it when looking at his financial status and that is wrong. You almost get the feeling that the MSM is shocked to see that an African American politician is doing so well!

Are we voting based on politicians personal wealth? Why don’t we look at how the candidates made their millions instead of what their net worth is? Better yet, let’s look at what is coming out of their campaigns for ideas to make a better America.

It just ticks me off when the MSM looks at an African American candidates wealth and then blurbs the means of other mega rich candidates as if their money is superior.

My personal advice to Barack Obama is to answer all questions regarding his families wealth is this. “We earned it! Next question?”.

Our Nation Once had Leaders

In politics today it is more of public opinion and stardom than it is about what you actually can achieve once elected. Fred Thompson proved that fact by wiping out what was said by the debaters at the actual Republican Presidential debate with his five minutes of fame on Jay Leno last night. Welcome to the elections run by timing and an audience larger than a boring political debate.

I give Fred the actor prop’s for knowing how the tube works and how the mains stream media works. Fred announced his Republican bid for the Presidency to an audience of ten to twenty million viewers. Over at the debate they were lucky to have seven million viewers. Scales of justice and the main stream media proved out today who really won the debate and he wasn’t even there!

Some folks say that Freddy is a horrible public speaker and some say that he isn’t about the presenting of the idea as much as he is about getting the battle won to make the message law. Others say he could not handle the non stop back stabbing that is our nations gentleman halls of government.

That fact perplexes me? Why did he quit the Senate? Did he or did he not say that nothing could be accomplished in Washington, D.C.?

If I were given the choice of anyone opposing Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barrack Obama, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden or John Edwards then I would definitely cast my ballot for the Democrat over Fred the actor Thompson. Better air time on the networks does not make you fit to lead. It only makes you television savvy.

I was listening to talk radio today and they were pointing out the leaders of the election and I was sickened by the fact that they were declaring certain people the only ones that could win. I’m not saying that Fred Thompson is out of the running but does anyone know what he really stands for? All of the contenders on both sides have spoken and been heard. How can you say that somebody out of the blue might steal the race? You can’t!

This race for President has not even started yet and the people are not paying enough attention to it yet. I’m following it as best I can and even I think it is to early to declare the White House for any party. The people will decide that fact when the votes are counted in 2008.

Leaders of our nation are born through life trials and not by the offices they have served in or held. Our nations Presidency is not decided by the media, it is decided by one vote cast by many people that becomes the office of President.

Can Bush Stop the Congressional Investigation?

I’m sorry to report but this Liberal has to agree with the President and you will have to excuse me while I swallow that little bit of vomit that just came up. As much as I detest the never ending games President Bush is playing with the Congressional investigations, his closest aides and advisers should be covered by executive privilege.

Confidence in your aides and advisers is critical to the American Presidency and setting a precedent where that advisory capacity is in harms way of future President's trust will set a very dangerous precedent.

Congress should have solid facts in hand that point exactly at any aide or any office holder to levy charges. If there are true facts that can be backed up by more than one source then by all means the President should release his aides to testify.

I’ll be the first to say that W needs to be taken down a notch but I do not want to see the office of President become a figure head without power. As much as this sitting President has abused the office of President our Congress has to make sure that they do not cripple the office to enforce their own interpretation of the Constitution.

Fielding, in a combative letter to the Democratic chairmen of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, said the White House and the two legislative panels had reached an impasse. Mr. Fielding wrote that Mr. Bush would not turn over any records related to the dismissals and that he had instructed Sara M. Taylor, the former White House political director, and Harriet E. Miers, the former White House counsel, to refuse to testify in hearings this week. - New York Times

Our Congress is botching this investigation. Far too many cooks and not enough preparation to make the damn meal. All the vegetables are peeled, the potatoes are ready, hell all the spices are lined up as well but somebody forgot to bring the damn meat to the kitchen!

President Bush will live out this Congressional storm because the Congress and the people chasing after him are not all chasing the same horse that left the barn years ago. While they make the recipe look interesting they have other intentions and that is what the political game is all about. Something to think about as you sit in your Congressional seat is the fact that if you put the first knife in the President’s political back then what could happen to you if you ever aspired to the office of President of the United States of America at some point in time down the road?

When President Nixon was taken down, it put the country and our government in crisis for years. Can our nation afford that kind of crisis today given world events? Who is the next football player from Michigan or the Peanut Farmer to fumble through the dissolved office of President? Who is the former movie star to bring back American pride?

As much as I hate to say it, President Bush has made the Reagan Teflon suit look like sandpaper and he will walk out of office clean as a new born babe. History however will restore his legacy to that to which it really was. Smoke and mirrors. The smoke will clear and the mirrors will shatter with what the truth really is. If he had taken down the house of Bush with his Presidency will be up solely to the historians to tell and write about. If his actions were noble then that too should be written and explained. There are far too many what if’s in our nations future path and this President is courtesy of invitation only audiences.

President’s should have advisors and a confidence in their thoughts and those thoughts should be protected. Executing the office of President should be done so with utmost concern for the law and if laws were broken then it is up to the person in the office to decide if he is just or worthy of his people. We are a nation of laws and not personal ideology. If laws were broken then the Congress must investigate and do as it must to protect the Republic regardless of the pains of the past.

Giuliani is Playing to the Left of the GOP on Abortion

Mayor Rudy Giuliani gave a speech in front of a very conservative pro life audience in Houston and dared to venture to the side of the isle that for the most part should be the third rail for any Republican candidate for President. In my opinion it was a brilliant political move to stand up for what he believes in and set him clearly apart from the other Republican candidates. Where others amongst his party fear the strong arm of the Christian right he has shown to the people that they are not the only voice in the Republican Party.

It is a political fallacy to dream or think that all Liberal Democrats are Pro Choice when many of us are not. If we were then all of us die hard Catholics and Christian party members should turn in our right to vote and abandon politics all together. In the same context it would be just as wrong to assume that all Republicans are die hard Pro Life. I give the former Mayor of New York City credit for the guts it took to put this part of his personal belief and opinion on just this issue alone with the audience he had to address.

HOUSTON -- Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani forcefully reaffirmed his support for abortion rights today and argued that his divergence from conservatives on the issue should not disqualify him from being the eventual GOP nominee.

"This is a matter of deep and profound judgment," he said in a speech at Houston Baptist University. "It's a matter of morals. It's a matter of your interpretation of how laws should operate, your interpretation of how respect for the rights of others should operate. But in a country like ours ... I believe you have to respect their viewpoint and give them a level of choice. I would grant women the right to make that choice."

The former New York City mayor has struggled in the last week to explain his personal opposition to abortion with his long public record of favoring a woman's right to choose. He has defended his positions — and some say contradictory comments — on late-term abortion, public funding for abortions and the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion.

But Giuliani left few questions about his position today, telling about 500 students and faculty at the small conservative school that — despite his belief that abortion was "morally wrong" — he believes the decision should ultimately be left to individuals and their decisions should be respected.

Opposition to abortion has been a litmus test for conservatives within the Republican Party, who hold considerable sway in the primaries. Giuliani has drawn criticism from some in the GOP for his abortion rights support. One of his rivals, former Massachusetts Gov. Politically, Giuliani had to face this demon in the flesh and in an audience such as the one he did. Abortion is not the only issue America is facing in this election cycle and he made that fact known. There are many issues in this nation that needs a voice and pretending that all Republicans are self righteous and lacking sin is by far not the truth. On many issues Giuliani is hitting the target of the Republican message as defined by George (I’m the Decider) Bush. I think the Mayor is taking his own message and I honestly think that he is pandering to the left of the Republican Party. That makes him a direct threat to two other serious candidates in this race, McCain and Romney. Both of them are touting that they are “Me too W”!

This move by Giuliani is interesting because of the fact that it is not only drawing the attention of the left of the Republican Party but it is also drawing the interest of the right of the Democrat Party. That my friend is a classic game of chess with serious thinkers and players moving the pieces around the board with stealth plan that ultimately can lead to being elected to the Presidency. Not since the days of Ronald Reagan have these knights, rooks, pawns and bishops have been executed with a strategy toward gaining the middle so cleverly.

It will be interesting to see what the rest of the Republican Party throws at Giuliani.
