McCain Campaign Implosion

Any person with a political mind has to think that the McCain campaign is self destructing before our eyes. It is almost a given that he is no longer running his own campaign and is being handled. John McCain the candidate for President of the United States says one thing on the trail of the campaign and then his staffers face the gauntlet before all of the media on what he was supposed to say, meant to say, should have said, or just blame his opponent. Never is it the candidates fault, John McCain’s lack of being on topic, on issue, or just not knowing what he is talking about is now an issue before the American people. You can call it exhaustion of the campaign trail but McCain only does one speech per day as last reported by his staff? You can call it that he is multi tasking as a Senator and a candidate for President but he has not voted in the Senate in months? Call it whatever you want, something is not right with John McCain and it is showing more and more as the stress of the campaign for President grinds on.

Just today alone he insulted Spain, a NATO ally, by thinking that Spain has somehow relocated to the northern or southern hemisphere? On Monday he was against any Wall Street bail out and by Wednesday he can not bail them out enough. Over the last 26 years of his career in the U.S. Senate he was against any form of regulation, so much so that he authored a bill to ban any regulation from the government just a few years back. It didn’t pass. Today, he is the Maverick that wants to regulate Wall Street back to the stone age. Clocks ticking, who will he be next week?

If you are parking your vote on the middle of the fence in this election for President then you need to consider who has been talking the same game plan for the past year and a half and who just changed into a butterfly this week? What this all leads me to believe, and many well read journalists like George Will can certainly back me up, John McCain has Swift Boated his own election this week. Frankly, I’m shocked and bummed out. I was looking forward to calling him on all of his gaffes, lies, and out right points that had nothing to do with the questions asked of him.

Something is not right with John McCain and I can’t see anyone risking there vote on McCain when the back up plan is just a Mayor out of control from Alaska in the Governors office. Can America handle four years of a Palin White House? These latest changes in McCain make that question very relevent!

Electoral Vote Strategy

When it comes to Presidential politics at this point in the game then there is no better web site to grasp all fifty states political leaning be it Democrat or Republican than the one I am about to suggest. Electoral-vote.com is a political junkies mega fix of political polls and I caution you, the maps can cause an accidental overdose. I’ll be posting a permanent link at the top of the sidebar for folks to click on daily. Does that make me a political junkies drug dealer?

As of today, with the latest of polls that are updated often for each of the states, Obama has a significant lead over McCain. And yet, Obama still needs a strategy to make sure he and his political party take the White House in November. My thoughts are that Obama needs to pull Florida or Texas away from McCain to lock up the race. Other battleground states such as Virginia, Pennsyvania, Ohio, Indiana, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada and North Carolina are all in play for Obama or McCain so I’m sorry to report to most folks in those states that the television commercials running up to November will all be political advertisements from both camp’s.

Given the size of support Hillary Clinton had in Texas I honestly believe that with a ton of hard work from both of the Clinton’s and from Obama then the state of Texas can be turned blue. Turn out’s for both Democrat candidates in the primaries was very high and my thoughts are that the polls are not getting the full pulse of the states political leaning.

As for Florida, the whole Kathryn Harris deal along with George Bush inept policies of the last seven and a half years has hurt Florida even though Jeb Bush was their Governor. My thoughts on Florida is that many of the states political leaning is from people that have moved from New England states and of course the Great Lakes and New York, New Jersey area. Left leaning by majority and as true Floridians like to call them, Snow Flakes. Getting out the “Snow Flake” vote will be crucial for the Obama campaign as well as standing strong on Social Security benefits for the many retirees in the state.

When it comes right down to it Obama and McCain will be fighting for the Independent votes in all fifty states and as time passes they will both move toward the middle. The winner of the states with a narrow polling margin will be the one candidate that can articulate their passion for America best and in my eyes they both have lots of work ahead of them.

McCain Cries, Rockefeller and Obama Cave

Hold the freakin’ presses! John McCain takes offense to the truth? The latest hubbub is that Senator McCain was offended by remarks from another Senator simply because he spoke the truth. If that isn’t a Bushism then I do not know what is? McCain demanded an apology from the Senator and Presidential candidate Barack Obama simply because the Senator in question endorsed him?

How dare his fellow politicians say that McCain couldn’t spot a regular guy if they were cleaning the windshield of his car in DC. That would probably be a homeless PTSD Veteran but that is another topic for another day. Over at the New York Times they have this latest political blow out on McCain…

West Virginia Senator Apologizes for Comments on McCain

Senator John D. Rockefeller IV personally apologized to Senator John McCain of Arizona on Tuesday after remarking in an interview that Mr. McCain’s years as a Navy fighter pilot would not have given him an understanding of everyday issues faced by Americans.

In an interview in his home state, West Virginia, on Monday, Mr. Rockefeller, a Democrat, told The Charleston Gazette that Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, could not relate to the everyday concerns of people on issues like health care.

According to the article, Mr. Rockefeller said: “McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues.”

On Tuesday, the McCain campaign demanded an apology, not just from Senator Rockefeller, but also from Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, because he has received the West Virginian’s endorsement. - New York Times

Why don’t we all apologize for the plague in the fifteenth century and of course for that dreaded Cain and Able incident. Better yet lets be mega politically correct and apologize for the inquisition, Attilla the Hun, Alexander the Great, and just to be on the safe side, that dreaded New Coke mistake a few years back.

Senator Rockefeller and Presidential candidate Obama should not be apologizing for the truth. Was John McCain not a pilot that dropped bombs from thousands of feet up? Did John McCain ever see the effects on a personal level when those bombs dropped? Is it not a fact that John McCain wants the markets to find the “Floor” on the housing crisis thus proving he does not understand the middle and lower classes? Is it a fact that he has said himself that he is not well learned on the economy? Something that effects the common man every single day. It’s all true so why are they apologizing?

I’ll give McCain credit for his service to our nation in our armed services but that does not give him a free pass on the truth. While many of our citizens have served, just as many have not. Does military service make him immune from political questions? It’s freakin’ politics! Rockefeller and Obama blinked and it was an idiotic blink. It showed a wimp mentality in each of them simply because McCain played his military history card.

Where the hell was McCain when all the mistreatment of our military troops was going on at Walter Reed? I’ll tell you where he was, he was at Walter Reed again and again and again. He did nothing till the whistle blowers screamed loud and clear in the press. John McCain did nothing because it didn’t serve his cause till he needed to play it. Those troops in squalor didn’t matter till it was advantageous to McCain and then he spoke loud and clear on the air with Imus in the Morning.

It’s ironic that McCain is playing his military service card and demanding apologies. What about an apology from McCain for our troops still fighting to survive in our own nations military hospitals. What about an apology from McCain as a US Senator that allowed Veterans Administration funding be cut on his watch for all our aging veterans? What about an apology for WWII Veterans as they are told there is no place in the hospital for them? What about an apology from McCain for the current status of care for wounded veterans that only lasts for a few years and then they are screwed? Wasn’t he in the Senate when all of this bashing veterans benefits legislation was passed?

John McCain is a hypocrite hiding behind his military record. Being a soldier does not make you a God! Forgetting those that served and ignoring their needs while caving into the Bush administration makes McCain just as bad as the Concierge of the Hanoi Hilton.

My humble apologies to all Veterans but the truth is what it is.
