Take a look at the guy from Vermont

Bernie Sanders is the guy from Vermont you want to look at.  Check his voting record out.  His record in the Senate and the Congress are all about the people.  He has backed or authored legislation for our elderly, our veterans, our kids schools, healthcare for all, and the list goes on and on.

Bernie Sanders is blowing away anyone running for president online.  The polling data is not even closely accurate.  How can a guy that shows up for a rally in Birmingham, Alabama draw 7,000 people?  Last time I checked Alabama was a die hard red state.  Red states are feeling the Bern and love Bernie Sanders.  Every event he shows up at in Iowa is to overflowing crowds.  Some town where the population is just 300 people including children and 700 people show up to hear his message.  People are driving over a hundred miles to hear him speak.  That fact is true because it happens EVERYWHERE he speaks.  In blue states, he fills to over capacity huge venues of over 20,000 people and has to have overflow crowds watch on monitors.  The data of the polls is way off base.  In every political blue states he is on fire with huge crowds having to move venues to larger and larger locations because the demand to see him is that huge.  Now in Red States he is having to move to bigger and bigger venues.  His opponent could reserve a few tables at Denny's to hold an event.  Crowd control is not a problem in their campaign. 

Side bar, what does it say about a Democrat/Independent/Democrat Socialist candidate for President of the United States of America message when he goes to die hard GOP states and holds a rally and 7,000 people come out to see him.  It says volumes.  Alabama is feeling the Bern.

Bernie Sanders is on the heartbeat of America and he is on fire.  He will win Iowa and New Hampshire by a landslide.  While I write this post his numbers are climbing in South Carolina and Nevada.  The so called "Fire Wall" for his opponent is crumbling because his opponent can not even grasp the idea of how to really get in touch with the people. The ability to insert or give enthusiasm to the people just is not there.  It's almost like she knows she is the next president, demands she is the next president, and knows she will be the next president.  Her big corporate sponsors are demanding it too.  Nobody is feeling the love though like they do for Bernie Sanders.

Bernie Sanders fight is our fight.  He does not have a Super PAC and he does not need one if We the People are funding his campaign.  His message is real, his attack plan once President is simple.  Bernie Sanders is going to fight for us and we are going to have to have his back once he is elected.  This campaign is not over once he takes the oath of office.  Bernie is going to need us ALL more than ever when he pushes his Medicare for all plan.  Bernie is going to need us all for his free college tuition at state colleges.  Bernie is going to need us all when he fights to correct our criminal justice system.  I could go on and on but you get the picture.  This battle does not end when we vote for him for President. 

We the people are the POLITICAL REVOLUTION.  We the people will have to stand up and be pitch fork carrying citizens to prod the congress to passing his and our wish list.  It is our country we are going to have to fight for an
d we can do that.  OR, we could vote Democrat across the ballot.  The House and Senate have to go blue for Bernie Sanders presidency to have a chance for all the programs he wants to pass.  If the House and Senate stay in control of the Republicans then he will face the same dilemma as President Obama.  A do nothing and obstructionist Congress.

We the People own our Government.  Time to stand up and join the Bernie Sanders political revolution.

Political Friend or Enemy

I have come to the age and mind to believe that no matter who we elect to our congress that my wallet will be taken from me. All attempts to protect what little income I have coming in must go to the greater good they say with a political smile as they leave in their limousine. The upcoming presidential election and congressional elections are no different now than they were fifty years ago or even one hundred years ago. The end result is that those of us in the middle class are going to get screwed over to benefit the people at the bottom and most certainly the people at the top. That is the sickness of politics. Somebody has to pay for the dreams of a more perfect society. Sometimes I find myself at the point where my check will bounce to the moon given the ambitions of many political leaders. And yet they cash my check anyway and give my grandchildren the lean or IOU that must be paid down the road.

I long for the days of a person of true character and convictions that will run for president and follow through with his or her promises. It seems that the only election going on is that of the Republican candidates because the President is running unopposed as a Democrat. I find it odd that none of the Republican's are reaching out to the middle class voters. Their ambition seems to be locked on people that can afford not to care about the economy, not to care about jobs, and not to care about people in general. Everything the GOP candidates are proposing or promising is harmful if not destructive to the middle and lower classes.

I enjoy watching Santorum make a complete ass of himself and his supporters every time he opens his mouth. Mitt Romney makes me laugh with his attempts to be a regular guy even though he has over a hundred million in the bank. Don't let me get started with history professor Newt. Newt would be better off buying a tour ticket of the White House than trying to occupy it by the election process.

In the end, my friend John Myste has a very good point for those of us that think that they will not vote this election because "None of the Above" seem to be of the quality of character needed to occupy the highest office in the land. His point is the selection of justices to the Supreme Court. There is a 5-4 conservative leaning on the current bench and the next President of the United States could have the opportunity to appoint several more justices to that court. Politics will always be a screwing over of the middle class no matter what political party is in charge but the court is like luggage. You keep that stuff forever. I would by far rather have a supreme court with a liberal leaning than one that would wipe its backside with the Constitution of the United States.

Why I am Voting for Obama

I’m not voting for Obama because he has better television or radio advertisements. I’m not voting for Obama because his opponent has to come up with so much negative advertising. I’m certainly not voting for him just because he is a Democrat! I’m not voting for Barack Obama because he is a rock star on the internet and has a very certain way of connecting with the middle and lower class people like myself.

I am voting for Obama because he is not George W. Bush or any facsimile there of. I am voting for Obama because he sees the screwing all of us in the middle and lower class of America have gotten. I am voting for Obama because he wants healthcare for all Americans. I am voting for Obama because he offers true leadership out of hope rather than fear and despair. I am voting for Obama because he isn’t afraid of tough questions from anyone when it comes to leading this nation. I am voting for Obama because he offers real tax relief to the middle and lower classes rather than giving millionaires, billionaires more tax cuts so we can get the crumbs off of their tables. I’m voting for Barack Obama because he never once endorsed or fought for the idea that we should privatize Social Security and move the funds to Wall Street.

I’m voting for Obama to bring our troops home out of Iraq and the lies that put them all in harms way from the Bush administration. I’m voting for Obama so that disabled veterans, friends of mine, will get the care they need rather than a nay vote from someone that claims to be a defender of veterans. I’m voting for Obama because “diplomacy” is not a dirty word that was replaced with “You are either with us or against us“. And I could go on and on.

This election for President isn’t a popularity contest, it is the survival of our society as a whole. America would and will be on a fast track to revolution if we face another four years of Bush 3.0 and the disastrous policies he looked the other way on. As I have stated here on this site before, gasoline and oil prices will tank just short or prior to Bush leaving office. It has!

Our government has been corrupted beyond belief and it is up to us to vote and make sure that the corruption has no chance to fester. While all the red state politicians voted themselves a pay raise every single year, they voted against giving minimum wage workers a raise for almost ten years in a row? Apparently, inflation only exist if you make over $150,000 per year as a public servant in Washington, D.C. and as a Senator or Congressional member.

We have seen enough corruption, resignations, lobbyist going to jail, White House staffers and confidants going to jail, denials, and members of Congress shamed out of office from the Republican Party. Enough is enough and that is why I am voting for Barack Obama for President of the United States of America. For that matter all you have to have is a Democrat next to your name and you have my vote. The Republican Party put these people that betrayed our trust into powerful positions. Granted we do have a few Democrats going to jail too but the tote board is heavy on the Republican side of the aisle. Deny Hastert, Speaker of the House down in flames, Tom Delay, Majority Leader of the Senate down in flames, Scooter Libbey down in flames and in jail, Jack Abamoff the lobbyist down in flames and in jail, and the list goes on and on. When is enough, enough? How many Congressional members should be listed that left office in disgrace and scandal?

Faith in our government only works if we the people believe in them. Barack Obama brings that to the table and has my vote. Enough said, vote, and vote for what is best for America and I urge you to consider Barack Obama the better person for the job to lead all of America and not just his select friends.

Is Michael Reagan Nuts?

In Republican circles it is now Obama’s fault for the legislation that Phil Gramm and John McCain voted for to derail any regulation in the financial markets. How is that logical? Has Michael Reagan been hitting the crack pipe to often or what? There is not one person more liable for this collapse than John McCain who fought hard for deregulation in every concept of the American economy! It's his freaking basis for being a Senator from Arizona! It's his entire reason for being a public servant. Less government, less regulation, it is who John McCain is! If you think John McCain can fix this disaster then I have a bridge to nowhere for sale on Ebay in Alaska that you might be interested in.

Just the push poll on the site tells the story about what Newsmax is really all about. Hello my brotha from another motha Fox News. The ad I saw was a picture of Obama and the question was “Make American Kids Learn Spanish? Yes or NO”. If that doesn’t piss off the Latino vote then I don’t know what will? All of you people of South American decent should be pissed off at this accusation! My family came to America speaking Gaelic, where did your family come from and what language did you speak at home? Divide and conquer is the tactic here and you should not fall for it! I’m second generation Irish American and all I know of Gaelic is the phrases of Saint Patricks Day. Cead me Faulte. One thousand welcomes. And I probably screwed that up. That is what America is all about. You come here for the dream of a better life, you assimilate your family. Democrats in the Congress did not stuff this legislation to change the banking industry down the throats of the American people? A Republican lead Congress did it under George Bush and his no veto record the entire time the Congress was in control of the Republican Party. The demise of our economy rest solely on the people in power from the right side of the aisle that voted in majority over and over again to shift the American form of government into the hands of the private sector. Banking deregulation was foremost in John McCain’s voting record and he can not run from the facts! He can not run from the fact that he and George Bush wanted to privatize Social Security either just like they did the banking industry. McCain voted for this demise. He can not hide from it!

Michael Reagan is not his father, he is not any remote resemblance of what his father President Reagan stood for. America is being raped and he is blaming a Senator that has only been in office for a few years for our nations financial market collapse? Grow up and own up Michael Reagan. We have enough liars in Washington and enough lies coming out of the McCain for President campaign. Would you care to comment on the Senator from Arizona lock step vote with Phil Gramm on gutting the safety valve steps that FDR put in place after the last Wall Street collapse?

America is facing a serious crisis and the only answer you have is not blaming a candidate for President that has voted to repeal every safety valve that FDR (A Democrat) put forth to protect America from the next great depression. Ya, your on topic and realistic! NOT!

One more millionaire Republican pointing out how stupid we as American’s can be. Don’t buy into it. You are smarter than that. Voting for McCain is voting for not just what George Bush stood for but voting away everything that provided retirement protections in Social Security. Can you honestly trust anyone that will gamble your guaranteed Social Security check on Wall Street after the latest events? I would not bet on that and I would certainly not vote for the SOB that would risk it on my behalf.

This is Obama Time

While the rest of the Main Stream Media is begging to ask who will be Barack Obama’s running mate this is not the time to ask that question. The run up of the end of the primary is still way to fresh in the heart beat of Democrat voters and the time to heal those primary wounds is now. If you had the chance to see the Unity, NH first speech between the former Presidential candidates for President on the Democrat ticket then it was a love fest. Hillary is in the Obama camp and she is ready to fight for what is right. Something she has always done throughout her political career.

Hillary Clinton is jumping on the Obama campaign and it is what a true Democrat should do. She didn’t lose the election, she participated in it. Her voice was heard loud and clear during the primary process and it is now and will be a part of this election that will work against John McCain. McCain has no weapon in his political artillery to throw up against Hillary Clinton without pointing his own Senate record at himself. A dilemma that both Barack Obama and John McCain face in this election cycle.

Many of the folks in the MSM are discounting the Hillary Clinton vote base that will transfer from Obama to McCain and that is ridiculous! Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were so close on all of the issues that it was tantamount as a liberal or moderate voter to picking the cutest puppy of the two. Everyone loves what both of them are selling and that is the end message. Only Democrats could put up a Black man and a Women in an election process for President of the United States. Do you think for a minute that any form of the Republican political party could do that? Not in this lifetime or the next, or the next, or the next! That is the grass roots difference in this election. Democrats are about change in America and Republicans are looking at another old man that used to be a hero but morphed into more of the same because politics told him to change.

Time for change is not about Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, it’s about the candidacy of John McCain in step with George W. Bush. President Bush is an oxymoron of America and what we are as a people. Since the days of Abraham Lincoln and probably before that this has been a nation of ideals that changed the world for the better. Change is what this nation needs and in that respect, all of the facts point to the fact that Hillary Clinton is on the same page when discussing what is best for America in her support for Barack Obama.

This election is not just about red states and blue states anymore. America is a world leader and our place in the world has been hijacked by a seriously misguided President. Our sense of America has been distorted to think that being an American is no better than being an imperialist with nation building ideology.

Hillary Clinton is cool with Barack Obama as the Democrat nominee for President. Only the MSM has a problem with that fact. Democrats should see loud and clear that “Johnny keep us in Iraq for 100 years McCain” is not the same candidate for President of the United States of America that Hillary Clinton was! Why in honest to God sense would a Clinton supporter refuse to not support someone that has almost identical issue agreement on most of the issues? Why would they think McCain is the only logical choice for President?

Simple answer to that question is that the former Clinton supporters would rather commit suicide than vote for John McCain and that is reality. Liberals in the Clinton camp do not go extreme right wing simply because the liberal candidate is no longer in the race for President. Mega Duh to the pundits tossing Hillary Clinton supporters to McCain. All of the spin doctors can spin this story all they want but I can’t think of a single Clinton supporter ever voting for a strong conservative hard line stance that ignores the American people and their thoughts of what America should be in the world. Americans should come first.

Politics, Voting or Not Voting

With the up and coming election for President of these here United but divided United States of America there is a lack of enthusiasm in some circles to not even care to vote. Part of that lack of interest in the election process is the responsibility of the current occupant of the office to some degree. The Decider in Chief, that ran on the principal of being a uniter and not a divider, became a total isolationist within his political party post 9/11. As long as he was happy the Congress was let loose on the people with full Republican brutality on the middle and lower classes of America.

Prosperity in America is more smoke and mirrors than reality. If the politics of our government is to protect and defend only the interest of the corporations and the top 5% of income earners then we have a bigger problem than we all think. If running for the highest office in the land is sponsored by corporations and industries that expect the return on their investment then we have a much larger problem. Political donations for most industries have a higher return than any other investment opportunity in America if the legislation they want is passed.

If our government leaders think that America should be the world police and intervene in the sovereignty of other nations with military force at the drop of a hat then we have and even bigger and larger problem. If you support all of our sons and daughters in our nations military then our political leaders need to know that use of our military is always a last resort. America is not or was not founded on nation building on foreign soil by force.

When you hear someone tell you that their vote does not count you need to remind them who is in the White House now and why he and his party is counting on them not to vote. When they tell you that they are just one vote you need to let them know that by not voting they are enabling the corporate take over of our society and government because they are counting on them to not vote. When they tell you that their vote is meaningless when the big picture is considered then I dare you to ask them if a child’s life is worthy of their vote? What if that child is only eighteen or nineteen years old and serving in Iraq or Afghanistan in our nations military. When you hear them reply that the government does not care about the poor, make sure you tell them that they are absolutely right because the poorest amongst us do not vote! Being poor does not make you absolved of your government’s actions if you do not vote. When the people fail to vote, then the parties that get the vote will walk all over you unencumbered. Not my cup of tea and thus I vote in every election.

Given all the aspects of each political party you can come to several conclusions but one thing is certain, the Democrat Party was not the one that sold the war in Iraq to the American people under a cloak of shame. Democrat’s didn’t sell out the seniors prescription subsidy program by letting the Pharmaceutical industry write the legislation for the government. Democrat’s didn’t write the No Child Left Behind legislation and then did not fund it. Democrat’s are not the ones that handed Haliburton no bid contracts for the Iraq War and then watched as that same corporation moved its corporate headquarters out of the United States of America. I’m not leaving the Democrat’s out of all blame but the price of gasoline was not $3 a gallon when they had control of the House and Senate.

When you find yourself losing your home you can not lay the blame on the Democrat’s because even today the Bush administration stated that they do not think it is a real crisis as yet. Over at Reuters they have this little hidden nugget on the news wires…

White House: too soon to discuss subprime loan plan

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Friday said it was "premature" to discuss possible new steps to address the mortgage crisis and declined to comment on reports that officials are working on a deal with lenders to freeze interest rates on some loans.

"It's premature to talk about those discussions at this point," White House spokesman Scott Stanzel told reporters, when pressed on whether the administration is working on a new initiative regarding the mortgage market.

Stanzel said that administration officials "certainly have been working in close consultation with the private sector and with the industry to look at ways in which we can help people keep their homes."

In August, the Bush administration announced a series of initiatives aimed at preventing homeowners from defaulting on risky mortgages. Those included a tax-relief proposal to make it easier for some homeowners to refinance their home loans.

Economists have become increasingly concerned about the impact of the mortgage crisis, centered on subprime loans extended to riskier borrowers, on the broader U.S. economy. - Reuters

They have some band aide programs but if you don’t qualify now because of the credit crunch on the middle and lower class then you better call a mover or some friends with a pick up. The red carpet of the White House and the Republican party does not venture further than the top 5% of income earners. If you are in that club then good for you, if you are not, then you better vote or consider yourself damned, screwed and tattooed by any future Republican lead government in America.

At least there is one thing that both political parties have in common . The top three of each party does not care about the middle and lower class because they can count on the majority of us to simply not vote. Big mistake on their part but then again they have the big bucks to sell the ones that do vote the sound bite that just might get their vote. Shiny object over hear on the boob tube while they throw them and you under the bus over there to corporate America.

I’m dumbfounded that the leaders from each political party are the leaders for the highest office in the land. Republican’s have Giuliani that is a Catholic, divorced several times, cheated on his wife in the lead that knowingly used his NYPD for a taxi service for his mistress.

Followed by a close second former Governor that has a larger collection of Flip Flops than Senator John Kerry. I personally think that Kerry had a yard sale and Mitt Romney bought the entire collection.

Then we have the angry Senator from Arizona. He’s a time bomb of anger issues that the White House is not the place to hand the football to him. Television debates don’t lie and McCain was blood boiling mad at Ron Paul and Mitt Romney over torture and Iraq. He needs therapy.

Democrats are no better…

Hillary Clinton does actually believe that she will be the next President of the United States. I find that arrogant. Number one rule of politics is that you can have a ton of money for your campaign but if the people do not think you are sincere then you lose. Canned speeches based on political polls is where and what she is all about and many people have opinions on many issues that are not popular but are still Democrat at heart. It might have worked for Bill but it isn’t working for her this time around.

Barack Obama is a political star but he does not play well to the moderates of the Democrat party. Rather than being himself where he would excel he is fashioning himself as a me too Democrat. Running in the shadow of Hillary is not him and he either does not get what the people want to hear or his political campaign advisors are leading him down the wrong road. In most of the debates he was upstaged with the right answers to the questions posed to all of the candidates. Personally, I do not think that some of the answers he gave were really from his gut. Given a few more years experience in Washington he would have my vote in a heart beat. You can see that he is over his head in this election.

John Edwards is a great politician that has mastered the double speak of politics. Ask him a direct question and you will always walk away with a dazed and confused look. Nice hair though! Four hundred dollar haircuts does not sell you as a man of the poor and middle class. Two America’s, yup and he proved that fact with his haircut.

That is my round up, one thing that I believe very important to all Americans regardless of political belief, you need to vote! Otherwise the limousines will pass you by and the people living the life of luxury will always benefit when you simply do not care to vote. Rise up and take your government back by voting. No matter what party you believe in you need to look at your lot in life and ask yourself if this person is worthy of your vote? Then look again who isn’t the top three and be amazed at the favors they will not owe to the maxed out donors of the campaigns. It’s your country and it is not sponsored by corporation ABC. VOTE!

The fire is in the air and the candidates are no longer being absolute friends and playmates anymore. Two words, About TIME!

This is a rambling typing so forgive my typing errors and grammar. I had to kick the kids off of Disney for kids to get to CNN and missed the first thirty or so minutes.

Denis Kucinich slammed John Edwards on the China tainted products being shipped into the USA with the fact that Edwards is a trial lawyer and should know what liability is.

Obama fired one over the bow with a fact of what the Japanese do to have trade with China, they send inspectors to China before the products ship. We should do the same.

Hillary doused the question on the so called “Boys Club” issue with her campaign for President pointing out that it has been the achievements of woman in her lifetime that have made it possible for a Latino, an African American and a woman to be able to run for President.

Biden blew his top with the fact that none of the people on the stage know that the WTO agreement with China has the enforcement written into the agreement to shut China down till they clean up their act. He is calling to shut down the agreement today!

Edwards pointed out the fact that we do not need to elect or replace a corrupt corporate Republican government with a corrupt Democrat government.

Richardson blew the Nuclear waste and not in my back yard issue off the table with the fact that we need to stop giving incentives to oil, coal and nuclear energy corporations and change our nation to renewable energy incentives.

Audience / Questions

Biden called for Bush impeachment on the lack of a full vote from Congress to go to war in Iraq.

Edwards wants to stop the Bush, Cheney Neocons with stopping the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. He was the only one that stated God bless you and your mother for your service to the questioner.

It’s Bill Richardson birthday, pointed out by a questioner. He would pull out all of the private contractors and our troops within the year. War in Iraq has bled our military and he would renew the GI Bill. New VA health care card for veterans care anywhere not just at VA hospitals and including mental health care. Mental health care for our troops does not get the coverage they need.

Harassment of immigrants. Edwards wants to review Patriot act and racial profiling. Close Guantanamo, and no more torture as President. Restoring respect for America.

Kucinich on the patriot act… I did not vote for it because I actually read it! He slammed all of the opponents on flip flopping on everything from Iraq to Nafta and the border. Richardson called him on the carpet that he is just a Governor.

Biden voted against funding Gitmo. Called for closing it three years ago. What are the other candidates going to do to change things now.

Mexican border… Richardson, deals with immigration locally. Two years ago declared a border emergency and is against the fence. Secure the border, detection equipment, employer prosecution. Mexico needs to give jobs to your people and stop handing out maps to the easiest place to cross the border.

Chris Dodd, Spanish… have no freaking clue what he said to the questioner. Oath of office is not about giving up rights.

Baby boomers retirement. Pensions and many will not have them. Social Security and Medicaid. Protecting Social Security

Obama, not raising age requirement is the way to go or failing to adjust the income cap is wrong, Warren Buffet pays less in tax and higher income needs to be looked at. Medicare… Premiums up 78% under bush, health care for all.

Clinton raising tax on higher income levels to fund Social Security and Medicare and she fuddled against it. Crisis with healthcare and Medicare. Fiscal responsibility is the way to go. Bipartisan commission to look at the entire issue. Not for lifting the cap on higher income. Trillion dollar tax increase if that is the route taken.

Obama slammed her on the top six percent of income earners paying into Social Security and Medicare. Hillary went back to Reagan and Tip O’Neil on bipartisan committees to solve the Social Security and Medicare problem back in 1983. Double speak and avoid the question.

Dodd on the Supreme Court… Against anyone that would even think of overturning Roe Vs Wade.

Biden, enough proffesors on the Supreme court bench. Wants real people on the SCOTUS bench. Wants someone with real life experience and not

Would you support abortion? Richardson, yes, Kucinich, great divide in our country, we need a healer in the White House? Clinton, privacy is inbedded in the constitution. Yes! Kudos to Biden on this issue from Hillary. Slammed Bush. Obama, What makes a good justice, outsider and poor vunerable, wants an outsider. Edwards, for privacy, back bone in judges and respects that courage and wants that in SCOTUS.

Middle East divided electorate, what message can unite our country?

Obama blah blah blah not answering. Restoring Habius Corpus?
Clinton… Working together, looking for common ground. There is differences but we can work together. Smart people can get involved and get back to being Americans again.

Biden… Gain respect with the truth. Repbulicans think this war and our policy stinks. Loyalty to bush is key. Republicans are afraid to take on Bush.

Richardson… Diplomacy and negotiations and talk to the world Syria and Iran and repair the last eight years.

End of the Debate… Man this was great but it sucked.

It was clearly evident that Hillary Clinton was the go to candidate by CNN and Wolf Blitzer. Obama was next and the rest of the field including John Edwards were second class candidates according to how the debate aired.

You could see that Biden, Richardson, Kucinich were pissed off that they were cut off time and time again because Hillary or Barack had the next question.

I do have to say that Kucinich impressed the crap out of me with his performance and you could actually see the passion and the reason why he does not want to be the soft candidate. Biden was cut off every single time he spoke and so was Richardson.

While Hillary was allowed to run on and on and so was Barack, anyone else was coldly cutoff. I would have liked to hear more from Biden and Richardson. Kucinich had the guts to call them all on the carpet for not having the ability to stick to a position and live with it.

Clinton on Science, Energy and Stem Cells

I’ve been watching many of the candidates on the Democrat side of the election process for President and I’m finding myself surprised that Senator Clinton has my interest raised. I’ve known since her husband was President that she was a believer in science and understanding our bodies and our world is a never ending investigation, I did not know that she was so committed to unleashing our nations brainiacs and scientists to solve many of the ills that the current President silenced.

Stem cell research needs more than just the private sector to make considerable progress. Stem cell research needs the freedom of our universities and colleges to experiment without fear of losing federal grants or funding. Stem cell research is the science of our human future and without it many of the debilitating or life ending diseases will shorten the life span of many Americans.

Alternative energy science and research is expensive and asking Exxon Mobile to fund research that would basically put them out of business is an ultimate oxymoron. That would be the free market President Bush policy as far as alternative energy research goes. Senator Clinton is backing a full scientific research of alternative energy sources.

In a stinging critique of Bush administration science policy, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York said yesterday that if she were elected president she would require agency directors to show they were protecting science research from “political pressure” and that she would lift federal limits on stem cell research.

Mrs. Clinton, a leading Democratic presidential candidate, also committed herself to a space-based climate research project to combat global warming and pledged to spend $50 billion on fighting climate change and finding energy alternatives to foreign oil.

In a speech laying out her campaign’s science agenda, Mrs. Clinton spoke of the need for a “robust” program of human exploration of space. - New York Times

I’m a firm believer that if you place constraints on scientists and researchers then you are stifling the experimental process that needs to have a free thought process in order to make the discoveries needed by mankind. It’s a known fact that President Bush will only allow his belief in what science is to exist under his rules. That alone is a Comedy Central joke headline.

I’m one of the strongest believers that our nation needs new and yet to be discovered energy sources. More so now than any time in our nations history. Take wind power as just one example, GE is one of the greatest innovators in this technology that is absolutely a clean and green electric renewable energy source. It is not cheap to put up even one windmill but the alternative is burning fossil fuels that add to the global warming problem. I wonder if Senator Clinton would back a continuation of the tax breaks for wind power installation on the national grid? I’m wondering if she would offer the same tax breaks to wood pellet manufacturers that are building new plants to meet the demand for alternative renewable heating sources? If you own a wood pellet stove to heat your home then you know more than enough about the shortages over the past few years.

I won’t even start to run on with my incessant belief in the need for all forms of stem cell research to advance the science of medicine. From Diabetes to Parkinson’s is just touching the surface. How committed is she to the research process?

Day by day and issue by issue I’m finding my vote gravitating towards Senator Clinton but she could royally screw up tomorrow and come out with a huge tax and spend program that I do not believe in.
