President Obama

With one hand on the holy bible and the other raised in oath and promise, Barack Obama will become the next President of the United States of America. It has been a long hard road to this point and it marks the coming of a new generation of America. A new page in our children’s history books will need to be written for them to study, learn from, and know that nothing is impossible in America.

With all of the financial crisis America is facing, President Obama, and his entire cabinet will have their hands full on day one. Not since the days of Franklin Delano Roosevelt has such a dire set of circumstances existed in our country for a President to face and conquer. And just like FDR, President Obama and Vice President Biden will get to work on not just fixing the fundamental problems that caused this economic meltdown but also the heart and soul of America. How they manage to bring America back from the brink or screw it up even more will also be something for the history books as well.

At times like these, I am so glad that we have someone like President Barack Obama that knows how to build a bridge over troubled waters not just politically but in the financial part of our nations economy. President Obama will also be able to talk to the average American and surpass President Ronald Reagan as the great communicator. Having faith in those entrusted to get our nation past this crisis is half the battle of fixing this mess that we are all stuck in…

Yes we can! Get out of this financial crunch, yes we can! Get out of the housing collapse, yes we can! Turn the economy around, yes we can! Create millions of new jobs in new industries, yes we can! Work together as one people to save our economy, yes we damn well can!

Congratulations President Obama, Vice President Biden, now get your asses to work and fix this nation! The clock is ticking… tick, tock, tick, tock…

U.S. to Collapse in 2010

Psst… According to a high ranking former KGB operative, all of our mailing addresses in the United States of America are going to change in 2010. Proffesor Igor Panarin of Moscow is predicting the U.S. Government will collapse and the states will be divied up like economic war prizes. Alaska is going to revert back to Russian control…ROFLMAO! Did anyone ask the US oil companies about that possibility...LOL? All the fashionistas of California and west coast will have to don state approved clothing only and swear allegiance to China. All of you in Texas will now face south to Mexico to salute your new capital. (I'm going to pee my pants laughing) All of you in the midwest will have to learn how to speak Canadian and end all of your sentences with “Aye?” As for all of us in the northeast and southeast down to South Carolina, we get to finally be French, German, Dutch, English, or Spanish and join the European Union. I do hope we don't have to learn all of their languages because the English language is supposed to be the hardest.

Over at the Wall Street Journal they have this to say on it…

As if Things Weren't Bad Enough, Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S.
In Moscow, Igor Panarin's Forecasts Are All the Rage; America 'Disintegrates' in 2010

By ANDREW OSBORN

MOSCOW -- For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument -- that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. -- very seriously. Now he's found an eager audience: Russian state media.

In recent weeks, he's been interviewed as much as twice a day about his predictions. "It's a record," says Prof. Panarin. "But I think the attention is going to grow even stronger."

Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry's academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations.
– Wall Street Journal

Getting into the meat and potatoes of the article I quickly realized that Professor Panarin is on crack cocaine. Just for the sake of argument, the guy has no clue as to what America is all about. He has no clue that we are a migrant society among our states. Most of my own family is in Florida while I freeze my butt off up in New England. And yes my brothers do call when the temperatures are ten degrees up hear and they call from the outdoor patio.

Then we have to consider that American Patriotism thingy. Red state, Blue state, it all comes down to the fact that we are all purple. We are all the offspring of the purple people eater and we all wave the same red, white, and blue flag. So I dare to say that if Professor Igor Panarin is not on crack then he has tipped the old vodka bottle one too many times.

Just to be on the safe side I will be calling Governor Deval Patrick of MA to plead the case that Massachusetts is to be taken over by the Bahamas. I so want to call my brothers in Florida and give them an in your face call. It can be ten degrees outside but my mailing address is the freaking Bahammas!

Financial Market Time Bomb

Latest reports from Hank Paulson over at the U.S. Treasury is that the U.S. Government is going to financially prop up banks but there is a catch. They want stock in return for the favor. I suppose that is better than handing the banks a check and getting a toaster in return for it. Doing the math the deal works out to 15,555,555 toasters at $45 a piece. I don’t think Uncle Sam could ever sell that many toasters on Ebay without greatly affecting the world wide toaster markets so I‘m good with that deal.

For all of you folks following the markets and politics, Rachel Maddow has this interesting video on it…

Is it just me or does it not make sense to anyone else for the McCain campaign manager Rick Davis to make a statement like he did in the above video?

“There’s very little a candidate for President, and frankly, after watching today, very little even the President can say about what’s happening in the stock markets other than to hope that they correct themselves.” - Rick Davis

Is it possible that Rich Davis is a “Closet” Obamaican? Then when asked why John McCain or Sarah Palin are not talking about the markets he had this to say in the above referenced video…

“I don’t know if you really want to turn a campaign into a CNBC News show on the stock market. I mean it doesn’t mean that we don’t care and aren’t trying to do something about it. It’s just I’m not exactly sure what you would say everyday.” - Rick Davis

If for no other reason, both candidates need to be talking about this issue every single day for a reason. To instill calm in the markets should either one of them become President. Well it turns out that Obama is talking about it in a logical way that will support new jobs in the small business markets. Just like after 9/11, making credit available to the thousands of small businesses that needed to either rebuild, restructure, or start all over again. It also turns out that John McCain is talking about it but his plan leads to panic in the markets. McCain is proposing, take a deep breath, suspending the “Regulations” (I never saw that one coming…NOT!) to allow people to draw out their 401K and IRA’s without penalties?

One plan builds up small businesses, the other puts a rush by millions all across America to dump their stocks, bonds, and every other investment vehicle for the old Mattress Savings Bank.

Just something to think about over the weekend. John McCain himself has said in the past that he knows nothing about economics and his latest plan would in fact put a full run on banks, company 401K’s, and investments in any form of retirement fund. Common sense dictates what would happen if the penalties for early withdrawal were suspended.
