Women that Vote Matter

 

In the past few weeks, the polls are shifting in every single state. States that were once die-hard Republican are now shifting left to the Democrats.  One single demographic behind this change is the women that vote.  And that vote comes down to the decision to overturn Roe vs Wade.  Courts should not have any say on any women’s right to decide what is best for her body.  Or for laws to be made that Doctors can be jailed for saving a mother’s life during a pregnancy.  And those same laws that would jail a doctor are so vague.  Catch 22 for all women across America.  Welcome to the GOP idea of being your voice in government.  Good luck with that for you and your doctor.

Recent polls show that the Senate could shift to 54 seats for Democrats.  The House is not looking good to keep the women’s voice heard here in America.  If the GOP or Republican’s take the House, then it is back door abortions in many states across the country that have put women and their rights down at heel where they believe they should always be.  Women with problem pregnancies will not seek out doctors or hospitals that could save their lives but just risk it all with an at home birth.  One or both will die.  It is what it is and so it shall be if the voice of women across this nation is not heard come November.  Your vote matters now more than ever.

Only the congress can codify a woman’s right to decide what medical decisions she chooses for her own body.  Only legislation in the House and Senate can overturn the Supreme Court decision on Roe vs Wade.  That legislation cannot and will not happen if any Republican wins an election.  A super majority in the House and in the Senate needs to be in place to make it happen.

As the father of five daughters, I do not want anyone in our nations capitol or state houses deciding her decisions what is best for her life.  Nor do I want any medical professional that could save her life handing her a death sentence because of federal or state law during a difficult pregnancy.

Now is the time for women to make sure they vote.  Not so long ago women could not even vote.  Your vote matters more than you know now!

 I don't make this stuff up but it actually happened on Fox News.  A host complementing Joe Biden for getting stuff done.

Things are looking up over at Fox News.  Maybe the owner of Fox News actually knows what progress for the American people really is.

Roevember is a thing in 2022

 

   

 

With the Supreme Court overturning Roe vs Wade the political landscape for the mid term elections has changed dramatically.  States across the United States of America had trigger laws that automatically took effect if Roe vs Wade was overturned.  Those trigger laws were written decades ago for most states, but they are now law.  Those triggers were most likely written by elderly white male men.

The opinions or thoughts of women were not considered when these laws were written.  The good old boys in the state representative offices knew what was best for the states.  And the good old boy Governors signed them into law.

Roevember is a real thing that is happening across the country in elections for every seat in congress and in the senate.  Women are turning against the GOP because of its staunch support for a radical Supreme Court and their own states mandating what medical procedures a woman can have performed on her own body.

Doctors can now go to jail if a mother has a life-threatening problem with her pregnancy because the laws were written so badly, and he or she must abort the baby to save the mothers life.  When you want health care advice you see a doctor and not a legislator.  Now it appears that you have to see your local legislator for your OB-GYN health care needs first.

No worries for the ladies out there, all the elderly white men do not have a uterus and will not be affected by the change in law.  Other than the occasional mistress that needs immediate OB-GYN medical care after a vacation trip to get a prescription.

Roevember is a real thing.  We need a nation of laws for the current times by elected leaders that will stand to defend a woman’s right to decide any medical procedure on her own body.  That choice is not in the offering of almost every Republican candidate running for Congress or the Senate across the country.  It isn’t even a choice for a Republican candidate running for your local state offices where the trigger laws were fired at every single woman when Roe vs Wade was overturned.

America may seem like it is broken but it can be fixed by simply voting the Republican’s out nationally, and locally.  Only then can the laws be changed in the Congress, and locally in the states.

Rock the Vote RoeVember! Only the woman of America can change the next election.  It appears their opinion has shifted left.  We shall see.

American Patriotism

 

My father served in the United States Navy during WWII and in Korea as a Medic attached to the Marines.  The medals he was awarded are numerous.  He passed away in 2003 after a long-term battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s.  My mother passed away in 1992 and her loss most likely contributed to his broken heart and decline in health.

My father’s service to our country is unquestionable, undeniable, and the most patriotic thing a person could have done when his country needed him most.  He was the one in the fire fights doing his best to patch up Marines that were wounded hoping in his heart that they would make it.  My Dad saved many men till he got hit with shrapnel on Iwo Jima.  And yet he still reached out to the guys near him to give them much needed medical attention.

I was presented by the United States Navy with the flag of The United States of America at his funeral at the cemetery.  And they said these words to me:  "On behalf of the President of the United States, the United States Navy, and a grateful nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation for your loved one's honorable and faithful service."

Fast forward to 2022 and we have a political party hijacked by someone that would call my father a loser for serving his country.  A loser?  Republican Party politics are now anti American because of the party leader, and nobody dares to say that the Emperor is naked.  Nice tie sir.

You don’t have to make up things the former president has said against the military.  He does fine on his own…

 “Losers!”  The words of a former President.

Congress has this thing called the Congressional Medal of Honor.  It isn’t handed out to anyone of our armed services without in depth research of the valor they displayed during battle.  Each one of the people awarded the medal posthumously or still living is the highest award our nation can bestow on our service members in the United States Military.  “Losers” according to Donald Trump.  They should have investigated a deferment.

For the record, a living recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor does not have to salute the President of the United States of America first.  The President must salute first.  That is what is called respect for service to our country.

America has no problem identifying our problems or problematic politicians when they say they love America but do nothing when our Capitol is taken over.  America isn’t in the halls of Congress or even the White House.  America is in all of our individual homes.  As Americans, we do not place all power in one house.  We have three checks on the balance of power, and it has worked for over 200 years.  The fourth check on power is at the ballot box.  And every single American should have easy access to vote via mail or in person.  That is a discussion for another post.

Long story short, every American vote matters, and every American can choose who they want to represent their values in our government.  Be it local or for the US Congress or US Senate.  Your vote matters.  At 58 years old I have seen many political battles but the one I fear the most is the voices that choose our next Supreme Court Justices.  That would be the President and any US Senator.  When the Presidency and the Supreme Court are loaded with extremist from any political party it is a disaster for the American experiment.
