NY AG Kills Child Porn at the Source… About Time!

One of the things that turns my stomach is anyone that can look at a child and be sexually aroused. It simply defies common sense why our nations legal system has not trounced out this form of trash on the internet to begin with? Granted they could only enforce real laws on websites based in the United States but it’s a damn start. You can chase child abusers all day long but if you don’t go to the source that feeds their sick mental thoughts then you can never end the plague on our children.

Over at the Washington Post they have this to say on it…

Internet Providers to Block Child Pornography Sites

Some of the nation's largest Internet service providers have agreed to block connections to newsgroups and Web sites that offer child pornography, according to an announcement today by the New York State Attorney General's Office.

The move follows an eight-month child pornography investigation. The probe turned up 88 newsgroups involving11,390 sexually lewd photos featuring prepubescent children. Among them were photos of children being raped and sexual activity involving animals, according to state Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo.

The agreements with Sprint, Verizon and Time Warner Cable are expected to hold nationwide. It was not immediately known why the nation's other large Internet service providers were not party to the agreement.

It looks to me like it is time to turn the heat up on the rest of our nations internet suppliers to ban child pornography access! This kind of internet use is not covered under the first amendment to the Constitution by any means and anyone that thinks it should be is dead wrong. First off, if the owners of these websites are putting pictures up of children being sexually abused then they are in fact contributing to a crime against children. Somewhere in America an internet provider is making those child pornography web pages available. That my friends is also contributing to the sexual abuse of children and unacceptable in my eyes.

Where the hell are all the Liberal Democrats in Congress to get behind this initiative taken by the New York Attorney General? If they aren’t interested then maybe the strong arm Republican’s with their “Family Values” agenda should trounce on it! I don’t care what political party runs with this torch, they will have my full support.

Given the current political culture in our nations capitol, I fear that the lights are on but nobody is home. Once more this mission to save our children must go to the states to initiate. If you are reading this and care about children growing up without abuse then email this post and the entire article to your State Attorney General.

Change doesn’t happen because you read a blog or news article. If Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo of New York can get it done then so can your Attorney General! Internet providers need to take action and the law is on the side of the children… Thank God!
