UPS Store Screw Fest at Christmas

I went to the UPS store to ship a couple of packages for Christmas and got royally screwed over. Mind you, I needed them to box up the two packages and I have no problem paying for that service. I didn't have time. My problem is the actual freight charges for a 5 pound box and a six pound box, both with a guaranteed delivery date before Christmas. Keep in mind I was in panic mode and wanted to make sure that my kids and my grandchild received their packages before Christmas. I was at the UPS Store on December 19th and the packages would arrive Thursday December 22nd.

At the UPS Store, which by the way is owned by Mailboxes Etc, they charged me $40.96 for the five pound package and $93.51 for the six pound package. Add the cost of the boxes and you end up with a total screwing over of $146.70 with tax of $.096. They were nice enough to offer not to charge me for putting the items in the actual boxes I paid them for.

I placed a call to UPS and they told me that I had to call the 888 number for Mailboxes Etc. They could not help me. They did tell me that I got screwed. Mailboxes Etc. was closed and I didn't want to bother at that point since UPS already told me that each UPS Store is privately owned as a franchise.

Note to self. Use FedEx or the USPS next year and do it earlier. I will never use UPS for any of my business and personal needs in the future. And as you can see, this nationally known blog is pissed at UPS because they own the overcharge after everything is said and done. Their name is on the store.

$146.70 to ship two packages weighing a total of 11 pounds with a three day delivery is gross overcharging and abuse of consumers prior to Christmas. I'll be fighting with them on the phone.

I would have declined their generous offer to mail the products, and instead Western Unioned the recipients cash with instructions on what to buy. It not sound very Christmas, but it is as good a way as any to honor the birthday of a man who was crucified, per the instructions of his father in order to pay for my sins.

Unfortunately, now that I think about it, I may have sinned after this happened, but I don't think another crucifixion is in order. Perhaps I will just pluck the claws from a rabbit (if rabbit's have claws), or overcharge someone for some postage. That should be enough to pay for my prior sins, since I am not very evil.

If that is not enough, then God can let me know and I will find something else to torture.
