Winter in the Bay State

It's winter in Massachusetts and the gentle breezes blow,
Thirty freaking miles an hour at twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Massachusetts when the snow's up to your butt,
You take a breath of winter and your nose gets frozen shut!!
Yes, the weather here is wonderful so I guess I'll hang around,
I could never leave Massachusetts because I'm frozen to the ground!

Then we have this little thought…

COLD IS A RELATIVE THING. . . . . . .

65 above zero:
Floridians turn on the heat.
People in Massachusetts plant gardens.

60 above zero:
Californians shiver uncontrollably.
People in Massachusetts sunbathe.

50 above zero:
Italian & English cars won't start.
People in Massachusetts drive with the windows down.

40 above zero:
Georgians don coats, thermal underwear, gloves, and wool hats.
People in Massachusetts throw on a flannel shirt.

35 above zero:
New York landlords finally turn up the heat.
People in Massachusetts have the last cookout before it gets cold.

20 above zero:
People in Miami all die.
People in Massachusetts close the windows.

Zero:
Californians fly away to Mexico.
People in Massachusetts get out their winter coats.

10 below zero:
Hollywood disintegrates.
The Girl Scouts in Massachusetts are selling cookies door to door.

20 below zero:
Washington DC runs out of hot air.
People in Massachusetts let the dogs sleep indoors.

30 below zero:
Santa Claus abandons the North Pole.
Bostonians get upset because they can't start the snowmobile.

40 below zero:
ALL atomic motion stops.
People in Massachusetts start saying..."Cold enough foh ya?"

50 below zero:
Hell freezes over.
Massachusetts public schools will open 2 hours late

27 degrees here in sunny South Carolina this morning, and my feet are like blocks of ice! Central heat and two portable ceramic heaters going full blast! Guess you’ve put me in my place! I did experience REAL cold living in Plattville, Wisconsin, in the record-breaking winter of 1981-82.

I cannot highlight and copy your blog posts, so if you have a copy of this one, email it to me. It’s great! Fun stuff! BJ

9:30 p.m. or so ET. Just got it. Just came on. I've been listening to Charles Dickens' "Little Dorrit" all day - the novel George Bernard Shaw said made him a socialist. I'm reading with caution, LOL. Thanks! BJ

Yup! This sounds just about right!
My sister in Arizona tells me how cold she is when it's in the 60's and 70's!

My family all lives down in Florida Lee and every single time we have a blizzard or an ice storm, one of my family will call to tell me that they are out on the deck enjoying another beautiful day.

I got them back after one of the many hurricaines that go threw Florida hit and caused a ton of damage. Payback was mine when I told them of all the damage we had from the remnants of the same storm once it reached New England. I emailed them a photo of a tipped over 20 oz plastic coke bottle on our decks table with a leaf next to it.

They laughed their butts off!
