The Republicans Threw a Big, Private Party and We All Paid

Hello Papamoka Bloggers - Well, we have another reason to thank George Bush, both father and son. The US debt clock in New York City has runs out of digits, and the VAST majority of that debt is thanks to Ronald Reagan, Bush Sr., and, of course, #43. Oh yes, I would like to add a special note of thanks to the Republican voters who supported them all too. Truthfully, I wish only your kids had to pay for it too - I really do.

The clock had enough digits to measure US debt levels until its recent explosion under George junior. The debt passed the $10 trillion point last month, so the sign could not display the full amount. The board was erected to highlight the $2.7 trillion level of debt in 1989, back during George Srs. reign of red ink. Incredibly, the simpleton-son has gone far beyond his father.

The clock's owners say two more zeros will be added, allowing the clock to record a quadrillion dollars of debt. I used to watch that clock when I ate lunch in that neighborhood while living in New York City, and like most mortal fools, I never dreamed we would need to replace it with a freakin' BIGGER CLOCK. It, just like the new Water and Sewerage plant in San Francisco (more here), should be the first things dedicated to George Bush and his incompetent regime.

To that end I've purchased bushcheneymemorials.com and hope to create a pretty cool website dedicated to all the great things they've done for us. Feel free to get involved or make suggestions if you wish. I'll let you know more later. I'm too disgusted for now. The whole thing makes me SICK!

You seem to forget the independents and Democrats who voted for those Republican candidates. You also seem to ignore the members of Congress from BOTH sides of the aisle who supported, voted for, and added to the spending.

You point out that the sign was erected to highlight a national debt of 2.7 trillion dollars, yet 10 years later, during the CLINTON administration the national debt had grown to 5.65 trillion! What happened there? In fact the national debt increased every year under President Clinton. Yet, you make no mention of it!

The national debt has increased dramatically over the last 20 years and that did not change under 8 years of a Democratic president. The truth is no matter who has been in office runaway spending is the norm.
