Burning the Quran on 9/11

Let me be loud and clear that burning any religious book to send a message to the lunatic element of any religious group is an idiotic mistake that would infuriate the loony's of that religion. Down in Florida a Pastor named Terry Jones thinks that burning the Quran or Koran or however it is supposed to be spelled is a great idea. Can you join me in saying out loud "Terry is F'n NUTS!". How long do you think it will take this sort of news to show up on televisions all across the middle east and put our military people in extreme danger? It's on CNN now so it is there NOW!

If you click on the CNN link below you can see the video of pastor Jones and that the man is very convinced that his congregation's burning another religion's so called bible will send a clear message to the perpetrators of 9/11 that America will not put up with their lunacy anymore. Somebody give pastor Terry a smack upside the head of common sense. You can not have a battle of wits with the extreme fringe of any religion if you give up your own religion and common sense to play by their rules. HELLO!

CNN) -- A Florida pastor told CNN on Tuesday that while his congregation still plans to burn Qurans to protest the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, the church is "weighing" its intentions. Terry Jones, pastor of Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, who was interviewed on CNN's "American Morning," said the congregation is taking seriously the warning from the U.S. military that the act could cause problems for American troops. "We have firmly made up our mind, but at the same time, we are definitely praying about it," Jones said. Later Tuesday, Jones had a response to a statement from Gen. David Petraeus, the U.S. commander in Afghanistan, who said the burning of Islam's holy books "could cause significant problems" for American troops overseas. "It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort in Afghanistan," Petraeus said in a statement issued Monday. "The general needs to point his finger to radical Islam and tell them to shut up, tell them to stop, tell them that we will not bow our knees to them," Jones said on CNN's "AC360." "We are burning the book," Jones said. "We are not killing someone. We are not murdering people." The planned action has drawn sharp criticism from Muslims around the world and from U.S. officials. -CNN

However this pastor in Florida came to the conclusion that this was a good thing to do is beyond me. It certainly is not a Christian thing to do but apparently this preacher had one to many cups of the offering wine or something. Sounds to me like he is on the lunatic fringe of religion himself.

And when the news reports this lunacy of burning the Quran or Koran all over the world on 9/11 it paints every American military member with a big old target on their back. Then the people this idiot pissed off get to photoshop what an American is and target all American's abroad. Double Dumb Ass Award goes to Pastor Terry Jones.

Note to self: Remind friends not to send lighters or matches to Florida.

All that Pastor Terry Jones knows about Muslims he has admitted is what he has seen on You Tube??? He as never even met with a Muslim person. Wait a second... this guy is a nobody with some serious legal problems but somehow his message got picked up as a national story???

In his deposition, Jones acknowledged that his congregation has decreased in recent years, telling attorneys that he currently has a congregation of about 50 people - whereas he had 100 people when his congregation was at its largest. "I think mainly just because the things we're involved in are just really way too hot for your normal Christian and your normal person."

We may not agree on much, but we agree on this one. Fox talked to a Catholic Priest about this issue and his bottom line was that the guy is not really a Christian. If he were, he wouldn't be doing this.

Maybe if the same reasoning were applied to the 9-11 hijackers and other Muslim homicide bombers, people would be able to see Muslims as well as Christians in a different light.
