Stealth Mode

Times in the Papamoka household have come to the bottom. With the coming divorce and separation of my family has come some deep thoughts and personal retrospect. The economy sucks and their are fifteen or more people applying for every job that I apply for. I'm going to say a fond goodbye to all my friends here at Papamoka Straight Talk for now. I'm packing up the house to move out and into a new adventure in life. All of the pictures of my girls, our life, and just the basics that will fit into my mini SUV. Where it takes us is is God's will and I accept the lessons I need to learn. Life is what it is and I need to face it head on.

The girls will stay in Mass a two sticks with mom and I will try and find work elsewhere to send money home to them. I can't pay the rent here and I don't want to be a burden to the owner of the house with his two little girls. In two weeks I point my truck south to my family in Florida or Missouri. Not sure which but both have open arms for me and a place for me to rest my head and start all over. I'm not giving up hope and praying that several of the jobs I've applied for might offer an interview soon but time is running short.

"Paper or Plastic" is not far from my vocabulary when it comes to finding a new job anymore. Especially, when nobody wants to hire a Quality Control Manager with twenty plus years of experience in manufacturing and developing entire quality systems from scratch. Writing ISO quality manuals, certifications, audits, the whole gambit when it comes to anything that is manufactured. Experience in this economy means nothing and the jobs that used to pay a decent wage are no more.

Please wish me luck and prosperity.

Thank you for reading and caring about our little family. Reality sucks and I need to do more than just bitch about life. I'm moving on. Hopefully for the better.

God bless and keep you all well. I will be back but I can't say when.

Kind of a sad story in a way...but also kind of inspirational as well...as far as getting up and looking to new horizon's and taking action...even if include's unpleasant move's or departure's.Life is an adventure as well.Even if your daughter's are not with you...they will alway's be with you...if that make's any sense.Missouri is closer indeed ..I dont know if your familiar with either state and to what degree...if I personally had a choice between the two...mine would be Florida.Because of weather, living standard's,and job's as well.I have been all over both state's many time's and lived as well in the City of Miami.Job's are tight all over the nation regardless of where you go...some place's havent been hit very hard...Texas is one.We have many people here for instance from your neck of the wood's. I certainly wish you all the luck guy...........

Mat I just knew it, I felt it. I'm so sorry. I hate change but RC is right, it can be a good journey, as long as you have family waiting with open arms you will make it thru this bad time. I know for you the worst part is leaving the girls but you will see them. Things will improve job-wise, I know you will find work and you will be happy! Email me when you get settled please!! Love ya sweetie! xoxoxo

Good luck.

If it is any consolation, there are many of us in the same boat with you.

I wish you well and hope that you find permanent work which not only pays you a living wage, but allows you to get back to fulfilling all of your dreams - especially when it comes to your children.
Peace...

Matt I am so sad for you right now. I wish you all the best for your future. I hope the 2010 elections will help us out of this crisis that has been put on steroids.
When it comes down to it the economy should be first and foremost because without it there isn't much more.
I see too many people suffering and agree or not but in my heart of hearts I believe it is being done intentionally.
I didn't want to politicize your situation but I believe we need to come together as citizens and not allow this to continue.

Holy CRAP!!! I just stumbled upon this. Sent you an email but didn't realize things had gone this "south" for you and yours, my bro. Like another poster said... "if it's any consolation"...

And no, I know it's not. But be safe in your travels and by God, if your journey takes you anywhere NEAR Mobile, please don't just drive through without downing a brewski with me.

God Bless and Godspeed!

To Anonymous' comment several before this one: I cannot stand Rush Limbaugh, either as a person or his politics. I strongly condemned the politics of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

However, when I read that Mr. Limbaugh had lost his hearing, I sent a message....as a human being...expressing support for him during such a trial.

I also sent a message to V.P. Cheney after the hunting accident in Texas, as...again, a human being...I understood how embarrassing it must have been.

To my understanding, Mat's "hope and change" occurred long before Barack Obama assumed office. Mat and I do not agree on everything....I strongly disagree with Mr. Michael Boh in a lot of his writing. But, that is politics, and as human beings I would NEVER rejoice at the suffering of another.

The meanness of spirit in your remark is telling. It is symptomatic of a social disorder prevalent among many who claim to be patriots, or God forbid, Christians.

Mat, go with God always. Keep your faith as one never knows how the burdens placed upon us can reveal jewels later in life. I pray for you and the kids. Hang in ther, pal.
