Cats Doing What Cats Do

This is a weekend post and I happen to love being a cat owner. Then again I think he honestly believes that he owns us. We have a little black cat that is a mongrel with what looks like thumbs for front paws. He's a gem in the rough that jumps into the shower with our baby girls on a regular basis and if he is locked out while they are showering he claws at the door to be let in. He looks like a little wet rat afterward but he isn't about to miss the next child to go into the shower and back he goes. I swear he was a plumber in another life! Anything to do with running water has him mesmerized. Makes it tough to wash the dishes but he helps out by knocking the dish soap bottle into the sink over and over again. Then he goes after the sponge when we are not doing dishes. He is just a cat doing what they do.

This video goes out to my friends BJ and DB who love cats to no end. Sorry BJ, I know your dilemma with video but I was thinking of ya my friend when I found it. This video comes from somewhere in Asia so I don't have a clue what the music that goes with it is...

What I love most about my little Binks is that he loves to snuggle with the Mom of the house when she is sleeping. He can't get close enough to her and practically sleeps on her head every single night. He just loves to be part of the family and the kids love to have him around even if he is a boy and jumps in the shower with them.

Thanks! And a Japanese cat clip for the bonus lol. That is funny that your cat likes water because I thought mine were the only ones! It is rare indeed.

You have brought back memories of Curious, Cali, Tuxedo, Mama Cass, Tempest and Oliver. God, I miss them all. BJ

My big kitty is a lover of water, he also eats with his paws and thinks he is a person...
I have been reading the book about Kittyville this morning, the cat sanctuary @ The Best Friends Animal society the same home of Dogtown (now a show). I have been thinking this summer heading to Utah and volunteering there for a week...I love my furry four legged kids

I get a kick out of our little cat, when I'm writing or working on the computer he jumps up on my lap and puts his front paws on the front of the laptop as if he is checking every word I write. Every once in a while he looks back and forth from the screen to me as if I mispelled something.

Question for all the cat lovers, what is the strangest thing your cat has ever done?

The strange part of my cats is that they think they are dogs. They greet my wife and I at the door and are ALWAYS by our sides or in our laps. They love water, people, and playing with dog chew toys.

Strangest thing? Got an hour.

We took in a little kitten who apparently survived by eating from the apartment complex dumpsters. We gave him the noble name “Caliph,” which was shortened to “Cali” when he continued to prefer dumpster cuisine over Fancy Feast.

One day I was in the kitchen when I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Cali had come in the patio door, dragging something across the floor. I followed him into the living room, where I discovered he had a large freezer bag in tow. His bounty: two large sirloin steaks! Apparently, neighbors had left their patio door open, and Cali removed the thawing steaks from their kitchen counter.

I never said a word to the neighbors about this one.

LMAO DB!!! We used to have a Sheltie dog which is a small version of a Collie called Max. Our old cat Jenni-Fur used to chase him up the stairs and back down again. The two of them would wrestle and play together all the time. The two of them were amazing together. They would eat and drink out of the same bowls but Max would always let mumma Jenni-Fur eat or drink first.

BJ, Tell me you didn't eat those steaks...LOL!!! To funny.

We had a Siamese who lived to age 16. She was sure that she was our daughter's mother...brought her dead mice and comforted her when she was upset.

Welcome to the madhouse Annelle! We had a dog that thought he was a cat and he once caught a mouse and pushed it with his nose toward our mumma cat with such pride.

Frodo has an old post identified as "The Italian Stallion" (can't remember if it has a "The" in front of it, or not). If you love cats, or critters in general, you'll remember Frodo and Rocky.

Frodo and his wife Sam have a menagerie of critters, and many of his best posts are about them. Here’s his loving salute to Rocky:

Our big kitty who is a Maine Coon so I think he is one step closer to people because he is very smart. Well one day I couldn't find him so I looked up and he was walking on the exposed duct work, we have 12 foot ceilings and the duct work is about 11 feet off the ground. He climbed the closet system and jumped onto the duct work, I was a bit nervous that he wouldn't get down but he did..
