Obama Change is Possible!

Can we heal this nation, yes we can! Can we offer better days for our children’s future and overcome that which holds us back today? Yes we can! Can we believe that life is or can be better for all American’s in the days to come? Can we believe that one people, one nation, will begin the new America that promises us all a brighter future? Where a child from any background or nationality can in fact become President of the United States and offer our nation the preparation we as a people need to move on into the future as a nation to be admired. America is a proud land and it needs healing of many wounds.

There is nothing wrong with believing in hope, change, and just a better world. Somewhere in that hope, change, and the better world is where our babies of today will have to take the role of world leaders. In that role, they can look back on us as the monsters that refused change or embraced it in hope of days to come that would be just that much better. When the skeptics tell us that hope and change is not possible then it is our mission to make sure that change happens in one voice that is loud and clear.

True leaders beg us to be better not for ourselves but for our children and their future. We can ignore the opportunity in front of us and declare our lives stuck in the mud of yesterdays politics or we can choose the path of progress for all Americans. Our nation, our children, our future is on the door steps of our nation. We can choose to bury our future or we can move on and make our future possible. One future, better than the days we as parents faced. Facing our fears and making them tomorrows news is what we the American people need to face. Vote for progress in America or vote for more of the same lies and back peddling, you decide?

Actually, one would be unwise to believe this. Only individuals of one nationality -- American -- are eligible to become President. The Constitution also states that the President must be American-born -- that is, not a naturalized immigrant.

You know what I meant Infidel... LOL!

To your comment I might add that John McCain was born in Panama and not in the United States.

Circumstances of a father in the Navy so to speak.

Actually I'm not sure I do.....A person of, for example, Canadian or British nationality could not become President of the US. Barack Obama is of the same nationality as all previous Presidents -- American -- so I'm not sure what is being proved in that respect.

It's not a major point relative to your entire posting. It just struck me as a curious thing to say.

Yes, there is plenty of hope in us to bring about positive change and growth. Hope must be what has kept the heart of our country beating. If not, then what?

That's supposed to be how it works, but Cheter Arthur was almost certainly born in canada, and John McCain was DEFINITELY born on Panamaian soil - that is, he was born outside the Canal Zone in a Panamanian town. If we were to actuallu enforce the "American-born" rule, McCain would be ineligible.

fwiw, I took the "nationality" part to mean something like heritage or race, combined with income, religion, whatever of the many differences Americans have. Certain things, like those above, should not sway the outcome of an election.

Chell!!! Glad to see you back my friend aka my sister from another mother. Hugs at you and the family!

I'm of the opinion to all reading that any American citizen giving birth to a child anywhere on the planet is an American citizen first with options to declare citezenship where they were born.

Welcome to Jim O'C to Papamoka. We tend to soap box but love the debate which reminds me, Chell, you have an open opportunity hear to post on anything you think relevent to politics. Our Mom's would be pissed off if I didn't offer my little sister the right to speak her damn mind loud and clear. Totally up to you sis!
